• 2008-Nov-30 - Here piggy ,piggy, Kristi and Ee
Posted By m j
I am sharing pictures of Kristi and her pet sow Ee. Ee is from our old sow Tuna. Kristi picked Ee out as soon as she was born. She told us with her cute little smile and batting her eyelashes " this is my baby". With that cute look how could we say no. Her brother begged Kristi so much to let him have her, but Kristi held firm on it, NO!!
This is Kristi and Ee when Ee was about 3 weeks old:
Don't they look cute!!
Here is Ee on her 1st birthday. Kristi made her a birthday cake :
Here is Kristi playing with Ee at night:
Here is a head shot of Ee next to Kristi:
Kristi hurt her knee one day and the Dr told her no horse back riding for 2 weeks. So what does she do??? See for your self :
A real piggy back ride!! We took a picture to show her Dr. her "New ride". Our Dr. knowing our family ( a bunch of smart butts, Dr. is also one) just laughed and went around showing the nurses and other Dr.'s her new ride!!!
Here is Ee's mom Tuna:
Last we have some of Ee's puppies (babies I every baby a puppy)
One more. This is Ee with her children Tommie and Heffa:

We still have Ee and Tommi , but we sold Heffa to a neighbor. We did not have enough room in our freezer for her.

• Sunday, November 30, 2008 - Old fish aquarium into a christmas village
Posted By Nancy
My brother had given me his old fish aquarium when I had decided I want to have some fish...but I never got around to buying fish and setting it up. So recently on a HGTV show(can't remember which one) they were doing christmas decorating and made a glass coffee table to show off a christmas village someone had and I really liked it. I wondered how I could get something like that when I remembered the aquarium!!!!!!
So today dh and I went out shopping to see if they had smaller village houses because the big ones wouldn't fit in the aquarium. YES!!! They had some. So here is a pic of my new village.

What do you think? I love it. It is small but my house is small, and I never had a village because I just didn't have room to set one up without worrying about it getting knocked around and broken. So...the solution!!! LOL
My new christmas decoration!
Thanks for visiting.

• Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - Thanksgiving Blessing
Posted By m j
Thanksgiving is a day to see and share Gods blessing with others. I love when we sit down to dinner and we each share what we are thankful for, it is such a humbling experience. I love to hear what others have to say.
For us girls it is a double blessing hubby/daddy cooks dinner!! Hubby is a awesome cook!!! I just love my/our day off!! We do the dishes for him. I just love hubby's cooking. He is the one who taught me how to cook.
This year we will be having over my mother-in-law, her hubby my step-father-in-law, hubby's cousin, grandma, and maybe my father-in-law. This will be grandma's last Thanksgiving. We all think she is holding on to see this day. Grandma is looking forward to her grandson cooking her dinner. Grandma is getting worse every day. She will not be here on earth much longer.
I pray that you all have a blessed day tomorrow. Please enjoy each other. Do not let every day trouble be there. Let it go and enjoy Gods love.
God Bless you all, mj |

• 2008-Nov-26 - WFMW: Great Full Hearts Book

A Family Great Full Hearts book
This can be a fancy scrapbook, a photo album you slip papers into, a 3 ring binder full of paper . . . . even a simple spiral notebook.
No matter what it looks like it will become a treasure.
The purpose is to fill the book up with the great thanks that fill your heart. The only thing you absolutely need to make sure you do is note the year somewhere for the info you store in it. Set it out and add to it the whole month of November or simply pass it around on Thanksgiving Day- just make sure that everyone in your family writes something in it. Even little ones can dictate to parents or older siblings the things they are thankful for- or even draw a picture.
We often put up a Gratitude tree and fill it full of colorful leaves that we write our Thankful Things on- paste these in the book.
Have friends with you this year for Thanksgiving- encourage them to add a few lines to your book too- it will be a special reminder.
Add in quotes, scripture and poems about thankfulness.
Trace your child’s hand and help him make it into a turkey on one page.
Have an older child write an acrostic poem THANKSGIVING and date it.
Add a family picture taken on Thanksgiving day.
When the book gets filled up- start another one.
Pull out all your Great Full Heart books and read through them together as a family each year.
“Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.” – W. T. Purkiser
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. William Arthur Ward
There is always something for which to be thankful. – Charles Dickens

• November 26, 2008 - At My Kitchen Table
Posted By Karen
I just enjoy changing what's in the center of my table. I think it's fun and I have taken quite a few pictures through my time on HSB of my humble tablescapes as they are called these days. As soon as I can get it figured out get my daughter-in-law over here I will group all the pictures in their own little catagory called "tablescapes".

For now this is what's on my table. I found the adorable sugar bowl, creamer and trivet set for next to nothing in a hospital gift shop marked down dirt cheap. I already had the salt and pepper shakers and napkin rings that go with my everyday dishes that I love. (Walmart) My little cow creamer just had to go there. The napkins I pulled out of a drawer and found that they were a perfect match. My mother gave them to me ages ago and I remember them from my childhood days.
Soon I'll be switching to a Christmas table theme which is always fun. But I think I'll likely come back to this one. |

• November 25, 2008 - Big Peanut Boil
I went to a big annual flea market in a little town nearby recently and the found that the home grown peanuts were selling like crazy. No wonder. They were huge! They were boiling them there on the spot or you could buy them roasted or just get them green (raw) like I did. I got a big ole bag and lugged it back to the car right before heading home. I had enough to fill 2 cookers then bagged them in quart bags and put them in the freezer. All I have to do is take it out and let it thaw then warm them up a bit and they taste like they just came out of the pot.

answers about boiled peanuts from a previous post (2006)
OH, and by the way, that cute little green dish was a little gem I found at the flea market that day too to add to my collection of green milk glass and Jadite. It was only a buck. Sweet!

• 2008-Nov-24 - Christmas gifts, I saved a bundle
Posted By m j
I found a great deal on a few Christmas gifts. The coupon mom sent an e-mail out to people about a dinner deal. The deal was you had to pick out as many restaurants as you would like and buy gift certificates to. The normal price is $10.00 for a $25.00 certificate. But the sale price was $2.00 for a $25.00 certificate. So it ended up that I paid $24.00 for $300.00 worth of gift certificates. What a deal. We got them for a nice steak house.
We think it is a nice gift. We got 2 for Michelle and Gill cost $4.00 for $50.00. We got 2 for my husbands brother and his wife cost $4.00 for $50.00 . We got 2 for my sister and her husband cost is $4.00 for $50.00. We got 1 for our 4-H horse leader as a thank you for all her help, cost is $2.00 for $25.00. And we have 1 left for $25.00 that cost $2.00.
You guys might want to look into this site of the coupon moms. We think it is a nice gift to give. What parents does not like a nice dinner out for free???? And what a deal. Today we all are trying to save money and still have a nice Christmas. We did that for a few people. We need to keep our eyes open to great deals that the family we love.
God Bless, mj |

• Monday, November 24, 2008 - What is wrong with some people
Posted By m j
What is wrong with some people?? I am talking about this comment left by someone.
you need to call Gill and his parents yourself. Why are you leaving it up to your DD. Is the man who did this your ex husband? God I hope not!!! How could mother let this happen?
Here is what I have to say.
1. Is Michelle is a big girl and able to make her own choices. If she wants to lie more to Gill and his family , so be it. We all know when you lie too much you can not keep up with them all. And when they all find out how much will they trust her? That is why I am leaving it up to her. If she does some thing stupid to the babies safety we will step in.
2. Yes, he is my ex-husband. I had to marry him to keep Michelle. My parents would not let me other wise. We were separated when she was 1 year old.
3. How could a mom let that happen?? What the heck kind of comment was that?? It was the California courts that failed her. The molestation happened when she was on a court ordered visit. So how was I letting it happen ?? When we found out the police did nothing, the courts did nothing! I had to take Michelle and My newborn daughter Shayna into hiding until the courts did some thing. My husband spent over a half million dollars over 13 years to keep her safe. I was in court for 13 years trying to keep her away from him and his family who kidnapped her 5 times. I did not let this happen to her, I fought my butt off for her!!! For 13 years I fought. I can not controlled what he did on his visits before he lost them. As neither could any mom who's ex-husband has visitation with their child. He had his visitation for almost 3 years before he molested her. The courts failed to protect her, not me. He was found guilty of molesting her ,nothing ever happened to him. His mother was found guilty of kidnapping again nothing. We could not even redo the restraining order because his mother did not physically harm her( no cuts, broken bones and such), she just mentally harmed her.
For you who ever you are left such a rude comment. How dare you judge me with out knowing the facts. I gave just a few now. If you want to take it out on some one why not the courts?? They did not protect my daughter nor are they protecting the others he is around by NOT having him register as a sex offender.
Take it up with them!! No me a mom who fought as hard as she could to protect her daughter. I started in court in 1990, I was done in court in 2003 and half million dollars lighter to boot.
I feel that people should not be able leave anonymous comments. Sorry for my normal readers if I seem rude , I am just mad.
Sorry just venting, mj |
