6 year old Hunter has officially begun his formal "laundry training". Yesterday, he completed from start to finish his first load of laundry. He tends to be a bit of a complainer, so I was concerned about the amount of time it would take to complete the chore. However, it went surprisingly well!
I think it helped that he needed to wash his new "Doodle Monster", the stuffed animal that you draw on with a marker and then it washes off. He willingly loaded his laundry into the machine, placing the Doodle monster on top. I then helped by measuring the soap and he started the machine.
THEN the fun began! Hunter and Jarrett were both glued to the machine as they watched the Doodle monster swirling around, tossed from side to side. Hunter excitedly noted which of his "doodles" had been removed. This went on for 25 minutes!!! They giggled, whooped and hollared in front of the washing machine! Who knew that doing laundry could be so much fun! If only we could all see the joy in our chores the way these two little boys did! |

If you could make and market a DVD of your front load washing machine in action, you would make a fortune in the pre-school sector, look out Barney... LOL
Cute story though...
