I will not be here to blog Friday so.

Therefore with mind entire, faith firm, courage undaunted, love thorough, let us be ready for whatever God wills; faithfully keeping His commandments, having innocence in simplicity, peaceableness in love, modesty in lowliness diligence in ministering, mercifulness in helping the poor, firmness in standing for truth, and stearness in keeping discipline.

-Bede the Venerable (673-735)

I sing for joy at the work of your hands

Lord, you have given me these bright, beautiful children. They are the work of your hands, you created them before I new what babies were. Lord, give me the strength to parent them well, guide me in my relationships with them, and direct my actions to be an example of your love to them. Lord, things are sometimes rough and this challenge I am willing to work through with you at my side. I pray Lord for Charlie's mindfullness, Sarah's extreme attachment, and Skyler's academic needs. I pray also for Justin, as I feel 13 year old need extra prayer all the way around. I pray for Johnny, that the bipolar disorder stays under control and that he learns to work with others better. Lord, I bring a lot of important things to you this morning. You shoulder are broad and I trust my load on them Lord. Guide me in my love for you Lord, hold this family in you loving arms and see us through. In Jesus Name I Pray.

Possession in the mother of invention!

At the youth camp I work for the end of the summer is a free for all for the post camp employees. The kids leave a lot of stuff behind. In fact the amount is staggering! I was able to choose from the mountain of towels, 60 very nice towels! Without leaving a dent in the pile!

I gave a lot of the towels away, but still have to many for just our family to use for there intended purpose. So I took two matching towels and made curtains for our master bath room.

I purchased a cheap curtain rod kit at Walmart, along with round things with little claws that attach to the towel and slide onto the rod.

For less than 5 dollars I have some very nice, well insulating, pretty blue curtains in my master bath. As you can see in the picture, the bath room is not finished! I also notice today that the hollow metal rod I am using to hold the curtains is not strong enough for the weight of two towels, so I am going to replace it with a 1/2 inch wooden dowel. I think I will also have my DH raise the whole rod up about 3 inches.

Prayer: This is the day

{ 07:18, Tuesday 14 October 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

the Lord has made. Though I live in a house full of colds, pink eye and hand surgery I will praise Him!

Lord, I bring to you my hopes fears and dreams. I bring to you my children's health and that of myself and my husband. I ask for your healing hand over our home. I pray Lord, to you this morning that you will restore the prayerful life that I slid away from, pull me back Lord.  Lord I ask for you hand over all the preperations for my trip to Haiti, guide our steps in the correct direction, and place in my hands the items that are most needed for the guys. I  thank you Lord for the 100 lbs of clothes that are ready to go and all the other items! Your name will bless this trip and the teaching I will do there. Lord, I pray for your work in the local elementary school, there are problems there Lord and only you can step in and overcome them. Lord, I thank you for the beautiful colors of fall, that make my eyes sore with there beauty! How sad it is to see those colors fading away. Thank you Lord for this day!

Lord, teach us how to pray aright,
   With reverence and with fear;
Though dust and ashes in thy sight,
   We may, we must draw near.
We perish if we cease from prayer;
   O, grant us power to pray!
And when we meet thee we prepare,
   Lord, meet us by the way.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.These have come so that your faith- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even  though refinded by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 6-7
