It is really hot here-our high today was 101. It's now after 6 in the evening and it's still 99 with a heat index of 102. Our forecast this week is for high temps in the 100s. I am NOT looking forward to this. I do not like the heat! I've always said one day I would head north. I want cooler, dryer air!! I'm trying to get all the shrubs and trees and plants watered. This is the first year I have not done as everyone else on my block-I'm not keeping all the weeds out of the front yard. I really felt it was going to be a hot, dry summer and I didn't want to have to pay for fertilizers and then have to water and then have to mow more and then start all that over again. I'm sure the neighbors wish I would do all that! That's one thing I don't like about living on a street in a city-everyone else has perfectly manicured lawns! It's just not something that is important to me. I have so much else to do, that I'd rather do. I'm trying to just keep all the plants alive. My mom always loved to work in the yard and she has planted so much stuff here. i don't want it to all die. She would be so upset with me! The weeding alone takes forever. I'm just a simple kind of person. I like drought tolerant plants, lots of mulch to keep weeds down, and would rather but my time and energy into growing something I can eat! The yellow jackets are back...I don't know if they've built another nest somewhere in the yard or not. I just had an encounter when I was out last. I really don't like those things. I will be taking spray with me when I go out to reset the sprinklers here in a minute! I'm trying to get myself a plan together for the week. It's going to be hot and the heat just zaps me completely. it really doesn't take much. Plus I'm having more bad headaches from the sun. Can you tell I'm having a bit of a pity party, complete with streamers and balloons??? LOL I really need some sleep desperately. Ok, time to go change the water around. Can of spray by the back door. Going to put on shoes this time. God please protect me! Have a great rest of the day and glorious tomorrow! Pray Up! Grow Up! Be Up! Look Up! amy
