Waiting for my homestead

A whole year!

Hello everyone!

Wow I can hardly believe it has been a year since I last wrote here.  And it is on this day a year ago that I left writing.  I have had the calling to return and log my life as it has been unfolding. I did some things that I wanted to do this past summer.  I planted my garden, and learnd may things  not to do for next year.  It was not as good a turn out on veggies as I had hoped, hardly any tomatoes, not as many cucumbers and the vines just died. So did my rubarb. One day it was up and looking so good and I went to check on it and it was dead.  It just killed me (insert sad face here).  I have read that some think it was not enough rain, some said it was not enough bees and come to think of it I really didnt see many bees in the garden.  So maybe that is something I will look futher into for our homestead.  I am still praying that the Lord will give us a homestead farm.  Well this is enough for now, God bless everyone and have a blessed day or night on your homesteads.  Pam

Hello everyone,

I am here again, and I will try to tell you what has been happening in my life.  As you know my Blessed mother passed away on August 16, so my life has been in a kind of fog and I am having a hard time coming out of it.  I guess this is normal at least that is what I am told.  The one good thing is my youngest son is home from  AIT. And I am so happy about it.  I have to make another trip to Michigan to go through my mom's things with my sister and my sister in law.  And I want to go but I don't.  I really don't want my dad to take my mom's stuff out of the house, I want it to stay the way it is.   But I know it cannot.    My heart is not into blogging and I am sorry about it.  But I do want to thank everyone who has prayed for me and my family, So from the bottom of my heart  THANK YOU for being here and offering up prayers for us.  God Bless you all. I hope I will feel like blogging soon but I just don't know.  So I will be reading your blogs and enjoying them. Thank you dear friends and God Bless  Pam

Very Busy

Hello everyone!

I am sorry I have not been on to blog in such a long time,  Wow time flys when you are busy.  I have been packing so much,  I have to be ready to go by June 30th.  And it seem like I still have so much to pack yet.  The livingroom is half full of boxes as is the diningroom, and Dh and I went last night for another box run lol. Again we found quit a few. So I will be very busy again today filling the little darlings with all my worldly treasures.  I think I need to downsize in my treasure department.  This was just a little hello to everyone this morning, and trying to keep you updated on my move.  Also if you would could you please pray that the dear Lord will find a place to live,  We are heading to Clarksville with no home to move into.   Thank you to any and all who will pray for us to find a new home, God bless and keep you and yours.  Have a wonderful day on your homesteads.  Pam

The packing has started!!!

Good morning everyone,

omg, its afternoon lol, I have been so crazy with all the packing that I have lost time of day.  It is after noon here.  Over the weekend my husband Doug and I went box hunting wow what a trip, We hit every store looking for boxes and we hit the mother load.  I was so pleased to find such good boxes and so many of them.  After we got home and unloaded the turck the packing started, we got the whole living room done and most of the dining room.  Everything is off the walls and just waititng for me to wrap and put into boxes.  We will be leaving on June 30th.  I am so excited I could burst lol.  But now the problem of finding a home to go to when we arrive in Tennessee.  I think we will be getting a storage room and camping again.  Talk about living back to nature lol. Our popup is canvas sided and no luxuries.  So anyone out there that is willing to pray for us to find a good home (reasonably priced) Please pray that the Lord will put us in a good place, (out in the counrty). That was our problem when we came here to Virginia we had to hurry to find a place so we took the first place we saw that was the least cost (an it is not cheap) and we are in a bad area and have been for over a year now.  So my prayeres have been answered in moving us out of here.  I just want the Lords will in our lives, And I want to meet them head on with a glad heart.  Thank you all for your prayers we will need them!  Well it is time to get back to packing, you all have lovely days on your homesteads.  God bless you and yours  Pam

I just love to hit the random blogg button to find new people on this  HSblogg, So much wonderful information is given out here from such talented and knowledgeable people, that are so willing to share this information it is just mind blowing. When I see something I have been looking for,  I get so excited and most of the time it has pictures that show you how to do it!!!!! Its Tuesday!

Hello everyone,

Its just a quiet day here in Virginia, a little windy and hot but thats normal. I dont have much going on today. Doug started a new shift, And it really sucks, 11:00-7:00 it just cuts the day up so bad.  We really can't do much. He doesnt like to eat so late at night but I just dont see any way around it. My son Brad will be coming over to get the Iguna and taking it to his new home.  Each day he takes a little more out. This is really hard on this mom, I really din't think having your child leave home could hurt so much.  When the first 3 left I still had young ones at home so I kept busy, but not having anyone home its really tuff. I really wish I was better at handeling this.  I hang on to the fact that Brandon will be home in Sept. Its Monday!

Just saying Hello!

Hello to everyone! This is my first blog and my first entry, So I hope to make a lot of friends and share lots of helpful information and ideas,

Let me tell you something about me, I am a 54 year old stay at home mom and housewife. I am married to Doug my husband of 21 wonderful years, I have 5 children, 4 boys and 1 beautiful girl.  The oldest 3 are out and married with children of their own.  My last 2 boys are 19 and 20, my youngest just joined the National Guard and is stationed in Fort Jackson SC, for bootcamp. My 2nd youngest son just moved out with some buddies in a townhouse to start a life on his own, So I lost my 2 youngest men with in a month of each other. And let me tell you this has been one hard pill to take. I have had a lot of crying times in my home lately.  I live in Virginia and am hoping to relocate to the beautiful state of Tennessee this year, My husband has had a job offer there and hopefully we will take it and move. But time will tell, If we do move I am praying the good Lord will give us a small farm so I can finally start my own homestead, I want to make my own soap, grow my own food and make my own bread,  I have always said I was born at the wrong time, I love the simple life, someday I hope I can do it all on my own.
