Purity Balls...

I recently read through an article about Purity Balls. Have you ever heard of them? I hadn't, but I like the idea! There is a beautiful ball at a nice hotel  or somewhere - men dress up and take their daughters at suited up in beautiful gowns! Everything is very elegant and the fathers also make commitment to their daughters  to be their protectors and protect their own purity as well as their daughters!  I think it's beautiful - have any of you any experience with such an event?

This new obsession within certain Christian circles with the father/daughter relationship makes me very uneasy, and I think it is kind of creepy.

I don't see how it is biblical either.

I do not think fathers and daughters need to be having this intimate kind of relationship, which is more of a husband/wife relationship. They should be taking their wives to a ball, not their daughters!

Yes, be your daughters protector, but leave the rings and vows to marriage between a husband and wife.

That's a very good point! A man should be commiting to his wife that he will keep himself pure and free from p**n and such - not to his daughter - you make an excellant point that I hadn't thought about!
