A Christian Woman Thinks (And It's Dangerous)

This 'N That

Wow, it's the middle of another week, and we've had a busy few days. I've been faithfully reading your posts. I added a few new friends to my list recently and really enjoyed getting to know the new folks as well as visit with my old favorites. Thanks to Darcy, I also found this cool lizard, which is celtic. It came with a couple of other neat celtic graphics which Darcy uses on her blog - go take a peak right now.

Over the weekend we had a party to celebrate my brother's girlfriend's 30th birthday. We ordered AUTHENTIC chicago deep-dish pizza, from Lou Mahnati's (I think that's how you spell it) in Chicago. It was nothing like our New England pizza, or the New York-style pizza they sell around here as well. You can find a link to order on the Food Network web site - it's not inexpensive and I suggest if you do this you thaw the pizza first. Ours was only partially thawed and when it cooked it left wet spots in the crust. This made it kind of yukky and hard to get out of the pan. Otherwise, it would have been excellent...

Buying pizza from Chicago is a little strange, but on the news a few weeks back there was a couple in Connecticut who bought snow from someone in Colorado on eBay - it came in a cooler, enough to make snowballs.

My little one was sick over the weekend, rumbly chest & cough. I took her to the doctor's finally for an antibiotic. Her new favorite pastime is playing games on the computer - we make her use the headphones. This is how she uses them:

Not sure how they work like that....

House update: work is still going slowly, things are getting done that aren't really noticable on the outside. In the basement is a brand-new water heater that's taller than me, and a new water pump. I guess the old system isn't working up to snuff, and the new heater will give us enough water for the additional bathrooms and laundry areas. We need to run plumbing and electricity through the first floor up to the second, and that will mean some shuffling of people and stuff. Bottom line, the girls will be sleeping in OUR bedroom for a while. Not the most ideal situation but we're looking ahead to better space!

We're also counting down to our planned vacation, it's been a long while since we took a family vacation (I think about six years, and that vacation was to the beach, about an hour away). This vacation will require a lot more travel. Not sure about whether to drive or fly - there's pluses and negatives to each. Anyone want to weigh in on that? We're going from Connecticut to Florida, almost 2,000 driving miles, which is about 24 hours straight driving, a lot more with little kids in the car. Flying is only 3 hours, but a bit more expensive (but less hassle, my preference).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Now that is just too funny!!!!!! I hope you enjoyed your dinner with family despite the crust issue. It looks yummy in the photos you share. Have a great week!

I Vote For Flying

Hey there! How long a vacation will it be? We drive 1500 miles or so one way each summer to visit family. We usually take 2 full days to get there and then 3 days to get back home (we're usually more tired at the end of the trip plus we like to do a little site seeing). Often times our vacation is spending more time driving than actually being somewhere. I'd really like to fly next time but as you said, it's quite spendy!
