We moved here now 8 1/2 months ago and have still not found our church!! We have been driving home an hour and a half to fellowship with likeminded believers. I have wanted to find somewhere here that we can worship when we can't go home and just to meet new people. Anyway, it has been a disappointing search to say the least. We have found ourselves on many occasions asking ourselves do people our age even go to church anymore. I am not real interested in my children making lots of friends but we would like some acquaintances in the community. Every church we had visited the people have tried to force their programs and youthy type things down our throat but then there would be no substance to the service. We are not interested in entertainment. We are interested in hearing the Word of God preached on a Sunday morning.

We had seen this little church on the highway and it's name is Faith Church. It was not in the paper or phonebook. The only thing we could find out about it was that Service started at 10:00. So we decided to give it a try Sunday morning. It was very interesting. The music was praise chorus's but not rock bandish. I think they do chorus's because they don't have hymnals. You can see that they are working on a limited budget. They are a new church. The pastor preached straight from the Word. We were constantly flipping in our Bible. Which we like. They only have one service and it is a family integrated service. Which we like. Anyway, they are Congregational Methodist. Do any of you know anything about this denomination? We are non denominational with a lean towards Baptist doctrine but when I went on the Congregational Methodist site it said Conservative Wesleyan. Which sounded right up our ally. However I couldn't find anything on Baptism or the Lord's Supper. I know it is completely separate from United Methodist in doctrine and theology. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Blessings,

Trixi

I have no idea about a Methodist church, have you tried looking up or requesting information about their doctorine. Anyhow I wish you much in regards to this Church search... Especially when alot of churches no longer want to preach the word anymore for fear of offending someone.Have a great day.

Congratulations on finding a church! I completely respect where you are coming from. We are in the same boat. We feel it is important to speak the truth and the word of God, however that is not what is happening in our local churches. We have been members of the Congregational Methodist Church and have not been happy. But this is with our local Church. I am not by any means lumping that religion in with my personal opinion of the one we have attended. So, our search continues. I have attended the Methodist Church all my life. Some good, some not so empowering. I think it depends on the pastor and the community. We are very simple people and are not out there to impress others but one person alone, God. That is our bump in the road.
I wish you and your family the best of luck!

It seems to me that many younger are seeking and searching and are gathering in their homes.... in our area. We all are in the same book but on paths to finding where God would want us to be. He has taken me in a very unusual way to His secret place of the Most High and Praise God I only have Him to give the glory to. If your desire is strong He will give you inspiration unto peace comes. Father God you know the need and I trust you are fulfilling it as you bring your daughter to you in a way as she has never known before because you are not changing although your ways and methods are unfolding in supernatural ways. May she find a purpose filled life as your will is done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus' Holy Name! God's riches and best to you always, lovingly, rilda <><

Trixi,
Keep us posted... God will provide and will lead you to where you need to be. :) I sometimes think the Lord often gives us time of not having a church family or fellowship so that we remember that it is HIM that should be are all in all........ just my thoughts. I hope things work out! I

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
