Another good homestead find...

Today, the librarian called and said she had the book ready that I had ordered.  We have a tiny little library and have to use that interlibrary system, where several towns share books.  It has really worked out great for us.  Anyway, I had ordered John Seymour's The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It.  So far so good, it seems really good.  It is very informative.  However, the man writing it has an England/Northern slant and being in the deep South things are a little different, such as our gardening.  Over all though, it is a very indepth book.  He really swears by being debt free. 

On the topic of debt free, Mrs. Joe Wood has a youtube clip on her last entry that is more and more convicting on how we need to get as debt free and self sufficient as possible.  I watched it and I mean it is scary.  I know just today I saw on the news a story about these National ID cards.  DH is military and he already has a similar one.  I did not realize that chip can track your every movement.  Oh, my!

I just got that very same book from our library this week too. It's so inspirational. My 5 year old dd and I have been looking at the beautiful pictures and plans greedily. It's such a fine goal to aim for, and the planning is half the fun.

Hi Trixi...my hubby doesn't like the way his ID card is either....all of their info is on their cards..talk about scary. I'm afraid the day will come when the military wants to put ID CHIPS in our soldiers...hopefully he'll be retired by then!!!
