So many things to ramble on about.....

Well, we woke up to some much needed rain. Praise the Lord!!!
We have also gotten slacked on our daily Bible reading. Just plain laziness and busyness. So DH asked how our reading was going and we were all a little embarrassed. I just love accountability. So I got up bright(not so bright) and early and did my reading. I am reading Amos.
Now, I have a batch of bread dough going for some cinnamon rolls. Here is the link for the recipe I am using: http://www.homesteadblogger.com/withinthelines/79204
I will let you know how they turn out. I thought it looked like a great recipe. I also have a mound of laundry to do today and some all around cleaning. Needless, to say we are home for the day!! Praise the Lord.
Yesterday, I took oldest Dd to a friend's house back home (an hour and a half). The friend wanted to get a group of girls together for the afternoon. I was so encouraged by what went on at the gathering. They did a study on Romans 12:2: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. They were focusing on the not being conformed to this world and what that means to us, as Christians. They talked and brought out more verses for about 2 hours. Then they played games for the rest of the time. I was just so glad that God led DH and I, to want to raise our children differently. I praise Him for this. I can not even begin to tell you what a blessing this 16 year old girl is to us. She is 10X a better person than I, and I can tell you I was not doing these things when I was 16. It has less to do with our parenting and all to do with the great work God has done and is doing in our lives. Thank you Lord!!
We are still praying on the house we looked at. If you think of us please pray.
And to my Secret Sister, know that I will have you on my prayer list!!
Blessings,
Trixi

Yea I can remember what I was doing at that age. Thats a blessing your daughter is being exposed to the goodness of what the Lord can do when we follow His ways.
Praise God for your DH!

I love accountability too. It sure helps. Especially when it is your own DH to keep the home fires burning. Wow, that is neat. I love hearing when Dh's and Dads care enough to get involved with the family's doings.
Warmly, ~Melissa

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
