Not so political but what about faith and politics.....

As I have said, I don't want to be too political on this forum but there are a few things that I would like to say....  These are just things that DH and I toss around at night. 

One thing as of late has been Mitt Romney and his faith (Mormon).  He gave a speech this past week on faith.   I know that there are people here who thought it was great and I don't want to step on those toes but I had some concerns.  One was that he said that his faith would not define his candidacy or the way he ruled the country.  Well, that in itself concerns me.  Not that I want someone of Mormon faith ruling the country, but more that he would not have a strong enough faith that it would define his ruling of the country.  What I mean by this is, If he is a man of great faith and values it should permeate his whole being.  Which would in return spill over into his presidency.  I don't believe he is this great man of values and I believe it shows in his record both past and present.  For instance, his flip flopping on Sanctity of Life.  Either you believe life starts at conception or you don't.  It's just that simple.  I will say, no one is the perfect candidate in this race, but I want a man whose faith is going to define his presidency and that little statement speaks volumes to me!!!  I have a faith that governs my every move whether it be right or wrong.  It still governs me!

Good morning,
I loved what you had to say in this post. Right now we're supporting Fred Thompson, but Mike Huckabee is right up there too. If F.T. can't "go all the way" I'm pretty sure we'll be with M.H. Why shouldn't this country have a man of faith at the helm? Look what having "wishy-washy" leadership has gotten us.

This is precisely the reason we will not be voting for Mr. Romney. I do not believe he is who he says he is........ he is a professional politician and when he was elected to the governorship of MA he ran on a pro- choice ticket...... now he has changed his views.... that is deeply concerning to me. I also have concerns about his views on same gender marriage.
I believe Mr. Ron Paul is the most conservative of all the candidates, IMO. I did read just recently that Mike Huckabee had pardoned a convicted rapist? Do you have info on that - that was concerning to me.
Thanks for sharing your views. Many men will say all kind of things just to get elected, we need to look closely at theit track record first and foremost.

I have just recently seen that, as well. I don't know everything about it and really need to look into it more. I tell you if I knew it wouldn't be worse to not vote, I would just stay home.
