Do you really believe and follow God's Word?

Yesterday, my mom and sister came down for the day. We had a great visit. However, towards the end of the day, there was a comment about Hillary Clinton being president. Well, oldest DD said she should not be president just simply because she is a woman. My mother then proceeded to say do you not believe a woman can do anything that a man can do. My DD, said no. My mother then proceeded to say that oldest DD has been brainwashed. This, ofcourse, led to oldest DD being very upset. We have stepped back and let our children make decisions for themselves in most areas because if they do not have their own faith it is sin. Romans 14:22-23 However, we have taught them that God's Word is Truth. They will hear for the rest of their lives excuses why we shouldn't believe a part of it because it is not for this time and etc. You can not pick and choose what parts of it are Truth. Either His Word is true all of it or none of it is. It's real simple. So instead of telling them how we feel on a subject, we just encourage reading and studying on any subject they wish. Oldest DD has done a study on 1 Timothy 2:12,14, But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. And it was not Adam who was deceived but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Now granted this verse is talking about in a church setting but the "Church" is the body of Christ so it would go to be understandable that it would relate to other areas as well. It's not because women are second class citizens or should be treated as such. It's because we are so easily deceived. I know this is true. Just watch TV for a few hours and you will see how easily deceived women are!!!
I am saying all of this to make the point, that it would be so much easier to go along with the "World" and just do what everyone else is doing. We would never have strife with anyone. We would not have people talking about how we have gone off the deep end. Nevertheless, we have a higher calling. I am so proud to have a daughter that knows that it would be easier to just go along but chooses to follow Jesus and His Word. It is a great thing!!!
Blessings to all,
Trixi

That is such a good post, and Yes we must allow our children to decide for them selves whom they will choose to serve because if its pressured it only gives the World more ammo to polite the sins that we try so hard to not come in contact with. I commend you DD for her stance, maynot have been easy considering it was a family member that caused her this heart ache, but have faith, the Lord will Strength.
the roles of women and men

Trixi,
I believe women and men are created to be equal in God's sight.. meaning HE loves men and women equally and views them as of equal worth....... with that said, women and men have unique roles that are different from one another..... and compliment each other......together under a God ordained union they are able to grow a family according to the Lord's plan..... it has always been the design of the enemy to make women feel that they need to have dominion, and for men to feel that they need to abuse women..... when a man and woman come unto the lord -- they are able to understand their divine worth and thus be able to fulfill their god ordained roles...... satan has always tried to confuse man and women.... since the garden and still does today... many women today are assuming roles that were intended for men and vice versa....... we are in a state of cultural crisis in our country....... the family is in a state of crisis, and I believe it is largely impart to the work that the enemy has done to deceive men and women about their roles......... it is very tragic..... and one that we should actively teach our children the TRUTH so that they will not be deceived. We are doing the same in our home.......... there are disntinct roles for men and women... with men being providers and protectors and women being the nurturers and keepers at home........ to try to change what has been started by God so long ago is to create chaos in our society and that is precisely what we are seeing today!
Good for you and your daughter for clinging to the truth and for standing strong!
Blessings,
gloria

I am proud of your dd for her beliefs. I so agree with you and it would be so much easier to just "fit in with the world" but that is not what he has called us to do. I belive we are not to pick and choose which parts of the Bible we follow, it is all for our reproof and instruction. That is one reason I started my new blog, to encourage other women that believe this as well. Stop by and say hi anytime, www.awomanswalk.blogspot.com
Blessings,
Rashel

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
