Well, we left Sunday Morning going to my Dad's in Decatur, Al. to pick up a stove and bookshelf that he no longer needed.  He is moving back to Foley, Al. at the end of the month and is scaling down a bit.  Anyway, he had this old cook stove that came out of a train.  It runs off of kerosine.  It no longer works but I would love to one day restore it.  I have it sitting on the wall right off of my kitchen.  I plan on putting a lot of my cookbooks along the back wall of the stove.

Then I also got this bookshelf.  My dad made it out of the floor boards off of an old train.  Needless to say it is HEAVY!!  It is 57 1/2 inches wide.  It is at home in the school room.  I hope it fits most of our books.  I am going to try and put alot of our games on the top.

My dad has a moving company to move him and they charge by weight.  So he just added things to our trailer until it was full.  Here are some of the items we came home with.

Patio set for our back deck
Turkery Fryer
EZ Up gazebo type tent
Trellis that my dad made out of a porch railing
Chair
hanging pots
concrete Eagle (I have no idea what I will do with this)LOL
Lightup Snowman
Clothes
Old Western Books
Silverware/steaknives
Plant stand
Potato Rake
Weedeater
Slingblade
I could go on and on....

Needless to say it was profitable.  Several things like the turkey fryer, we have wanted to purchase for years and just haven't.  We were so thankful that if we are just patient God will supply all our needs and even a few wants.

Today, we are taking the day off and getting all of this stuff and the rest of our house in order.

Blessings,

Trixi

Now look at what I have to go and think about all day, .......how can I get a stove like that ?.......

I am very happy for you with your treasures from your father.

Wow! What great things to come home with! My mother did that for me a couple of years ago when I went to visit her. I came back with my car so loaded down that I couldn't have fit one more thing in it! I treasure all that she gave me.

That is a good looking stove! Is there anyway to convert it from kero? And one could never have to many books or bookshelves!

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
