Woes of dogs on the homestead.....

Well, we have a dog issue here on the homestead.  Let me start from the beginning..... Sat. and Sun. we found our white kitten wet.  We just thought that she was getting in some water somewhere.  Then yesterday we found her laying in the pasture soaking wet and lifeless.  We brought her in and nursed her back to health.  She was much better by last night.  So then we were thinking maybe it was the heat.  She stayed in last night.  Well, this morning we found our blue tick puppy with the other kitten, running with it out in the pasture.  After, we got it away, the puppy went after one of my chickens.  I told the kids its either kittens and chickens or the puppy.  They chose to find a new home for the puppy.  She is a good dog.  She obeys well but God has just put it in her nature to hunt.  I don't need a hunter with kittens and chickens.KWIM  My children are sad but it is the right thing to do.

How sad to have to get rid of the puppy, but maybe they could find another sort of puppy that does not like to hunt...But I think all dogs love "chickens" lol Debbie
