Washing Soda

I have seen several people talking about making laundry detergent and needing washing soda.  My grocery store does not carry washing soda, so the first time I had to order it on line.  The shipping charges for this causes it to not be more economical.  After doing some research I have found that washing soda and soda ash are the same thing.  You can buy soda ash in 50# bags or smaller at your local pool supply store.  That would be like a Modern Pool and Supply for my area.  I hope this info helps some of you.

If you look/ask for sodium carbonate, there might be less confustion.

This is one area I knew nothing about, but want to learn about how to make my own detergent. I am leaning more and more toward homemade, or natural, organic everything!
