What kinds of board games does your family enjoy?

We spend a lot of evenings playing board games or card games before bed. Tonight, after devotions we played our newest game, Rumikub (sp). We have really enjoyed this one. It is highly strategic but even my soon to be (tomorrow) 10 year old enjoys it. I love to find games that really work on Math and Logic without the kids ever knowing it. KWIM Here are some of our favorites.....
Monopoly (ofcourse)
Life
Phase 10
Rumikub
Spades
We change up the rules some. We don't go into debt and we pay for college(no student loans). It makes these games not only fun but a good sound board for our beliefs. I feel strongly that we are building ties with our children that will never be broken. We work together and have fun together. In the summer we usually have some type of outdoor fun going on, after gardening.LOL I can't wait for it to warm up and the time to change.
Blessings,
Trixi

Our favorites is Monoply, Scrabble, Scrabbled States of America, Scrabbled States of America 2, Safari Adventure, and several others. I know what you mean about those learning games without the kids really know they are learning. My kids seem to really enjoy the Geography games I have found.
Have a great week!
Many blessings,
Lynn

We love Monopoly!! I love to play board games, it is sooo much fun. I think if people played games or talked with their family as much as they watch TV they would have better family relationships

your new game is it with tiles and it plays like the card game rummy? If that is it, we LOVE it...love the winter months, we sit in our outdoor kitchen with the wood burning stove kicked up and play games...what fun and lots of family time...Yea, looking forward to spring this year, we have such a cold and wet winter...Spring time and time change, COME ON DOWN !!! have you ever tried Labyrinth? it is a game where the board constantly changes and you have to find pathways to the treasures. teaches problem solving and spacial relations. great.

it says age 8 and up... but my 3 yr old loves it (I arrange the board for her so she has a straight shot at her goal, but make her find it.)

We like: Hearts, Cribbage, Rummy, Boulderdash, Candy Land, ..... Trouble. My husband is a real game player, when we first met, we would play for hours and hours.

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
