Home.....What does this word mean to you?

I just read this post over at Just Enjoy the Journey...
The question she is posing is........ Home, what does that word mean to you? I read so many highly informative things on the home here. However, for me home is anywhere that my family and I are. We have lived in many houses. My DH use to build houses and I think in the last 16 1/2 years we have lived in 13 different places. My children have never really had one house to call home. As soon as we unpacked all the boxes and got settled, it was time to move again. However, as hard as this may sound, it has encouraged in me that a house is not the Home. The family within those walls is the HOME. DH no longer builds but we are about to move again, as he has changed job location. Hopefully, it will be one of our last but if not that's ok too. God has dealt us this life and I am going to make the very best of it!! Having a place to gather to school our children, eat dinner as a family and play games together has nothing to do with the actual house. I love the word McMansion that Lindsey used. Because of the financial choices that we have made, we will never live in a mansion either. Nevertheless, I would choose getting to wake my babies everyday and spend my days intrigued by them, over a mansion anyday. I will never regret the decision to forgo a career to stay at home. I probably would have regretted forgoing my children/family for a career. My mother tells me often, that when you get older you don't ever wish that you had worked more. On the contrary, you do regret not spending more time with family. I hope I look back and think I did this family thing pretty well. Back to the question.....
Home for me is sitting around our table every night, as a family. It's DH saying the blessing over our meal. It's playing the game Phase 10 with my DC during school ours to help the youngest learn his math facts better. It's baking fresh bread and preparing wholesome food for my family. It's so many things that I would miss if I weren't the keeper of my home everyday. I am so thankful God has brought me to this place of HOME!!!
Blessings,
Trixi
Save those boxes...lol

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
