Some family type updates......

I haven't really posted any family stuff lately so here is an update.....

We are still praying and looking for a home closer to DH's work.  Every time we leave church we think maybe we should be looking for something about half way instead of moving all the way to Carthage.  We just have an amazing fellowship of believers.  The accountability is unbelievable.  I don't know that it will be too easy to find that elsewhere.  Anyway, so we are still looking and DH is still driving an hour and 20 mins. one way. 

My oldest DD got her permit last Wednesday.  She hasn't driven much but she is a very good driver.  She has been driving around the place since about 13.  She had read the driver book about 4 times and when she went to take the test she zoomed through it.  The woman behind the desk thought there was no way she passed.  Ofcourse she did!!  She is homeschooled. LOL

I got my new grain mill Friday.  I had to go down the street and borrow a ziplock bag full of wheat berries.  Mine will not be in before Friday.  Anyway, I have made bread and it was very good.  I am going to now try the recipe off of the Bread Becker's site.  Oldest DD made brownies and cookies yesterday using half whole wheat and half all purpose.  They were good.  They are a little grainier but we will have to get used to it.  I am very excited to be able to add another area, of looking well to the ways of my household.  Slowly but surely we are gaining a healthier lifestyle.  I have also incorporated a ton of water drinking and walking.  Dh and I walked 5 1/2 miles on Saturday.  When we can't get outside and walk I do a 4 mile Leslie Sansone walking tape.  This has been a hard thing to stick with and incorporate but I feel so much better since starting.  I hope I continue to stick with it.

On the sewing table, I have finished some napkins and a skirt for youngest DD.  The skirt is too cute.... Its a straight skirt with a flounce at the bottom.  Ofcourse, it's not too straight , as we don't wear anything too fitted.  It is cute though.  I hope to start soon on oldest DD's dress up dress that she wanted.  It is a large project that uses about 10 yards of fabric. 

Homeschooling is going well.  I have ordered youngest DD's new math and it should be here tomorrow.  The kids have started back from Christmas strong and I hope to keep going strong.  We start our day with Bible reading and that has made all of the difference.

I have done well with my daily reading.  I am reading through the Bible this year and I have gotten behind once but am now all caught up.  I find that if I get up at 5:00 or 5:30 (which is soooo hard for me) and do my reading that everything else just falls in to place so much better.  I have time to do my computer time and walk without these things taking away from my DC.  I am really trying to have all things in a proper balance and as you all know it can be tough.  However, the fruits are so worth all of the time we put in.

I guess that is enough for now.....

I hope you share some photo's of the dress :o) It sounds like it will be neat -- what are you making?

I wish I could really do justice explaining it but here goes.... It is a McCall's costume pattern. It's A line, long, long sleeved, and high neckline. It will lace up the back. It's very long and flowing if that makes any sense. I will make it out of some type of small floral print.
