Frugal Living

I am trying to be as frugal as possible.  If I did resolutions (which I don't) this would be mine for this new year.  It's not so much about the money as just living a more simplistic lifestyle.  One thing I am doing is I made napkins last night.  We are going to be using cloth napkins instead of paper.  I am going to try and get away from using so many paper towels.  I ran out a few weeks ago and found that draining bacon on coffee filter is far better than on paper towels.  I will still be buying paper towels but hopefully not as many. 

Another thing I am doing is I am trying not to leave the house except on Thursday.  My oldest DD has Spanish on Thursdays in town.  So I am trying to make this my errand day.  This will greatly reduce my gas bill. 

I am hoping to implement many other things to reduce our budget.

Paper towels

I have been staying away from buying paper products too but needed something for draining bacon. I fried some tonight and was wondering what to use. Well, now I know, thanks to you.

I think we can get into a habit of grabing a paper towel for every little thing and tossing it away. Such a waste of money and trees. It is a bad habit I have broken.
I have been using rags made out of old shirts.I use these if I need a throw-away towel.

I love reading the ways other folks are cutting their spending. I try to go do all my errands in one day too. We live way out so it definitely saves gas, which isn't cheap!!!!! Well we did get some sleet last night and a little yesterday afternoon. Of course it didn't stick, thankfully. What about yall? I bet you
