Dear Hubby is looking at a house today.....sickness, and gardening....

DH is looking at a house for us today.  It is about a mile from his work.  He said it looked small from the road but that it is set back on a hill, so he really couldn't tell alot about it.  We were not really wanting to be all the way in Carthage.  We were thinking about half way between hear and there.  Anyway, I am trying to just be totally open to whatever God has for us.  He may want us there.

We have a great fellowship of believers here.  Unlike any we have ever even known and it will be hard to move an hour away.  However, I don't want to limit what God may be working in our lives.

DH is looking without us because the last time I made the hour drive the house and place were terrible.  We have since decided that DH would look and we would just come if it is something worth us going to look at.  I can handle a bad house, a good cleaning and a little paint can work wonders but we have horses and need at least a little bit of pasture land.  I also need a garden spot and a little room for my blessings to roam.  Please pray with me that God's will be done.  I am trying hard to be anxious for nothing....

Everyone around my house is stuffy and has the sniffles.  I also think my youngest DD has pink eye in one eye.  We were going to start back to school next week.  It is already beginning to look bleak.  Oh well, there is a lesson in everything right?!

As for my garden, Lord willing we will have a place for a garden this year.  We are plannning to do things a little different.  We planted some corn last year.  My Ds loves corn.  I tend to think it is a waste of space for the harvest you get.  This year I plan on planting it a little earlier and as soon as it is gone I will replant 6 week peas in that spot.  I hope this works out well.  We love the peas and I want to put up as many as I can this year.  We didn't do very well with pole beans.  So this year we will probably go all bush, depending on our space.  I will also be upping my tomatoes from the 23 last year to 30 this year.   I will stick with the 6 romas and only do 1 cherry.  We planted 4 cherry tomatoes last year and I had cherry tomatoes running out my ear.  They were falling on the ground rotting because I couldn't keep up with them.  I hate to see anything go to waste.  I will try to do twice as many squash and zuchinni.  We have really enjoyed the frozen squash although I am about out.  I also intend on putting up more pickles this year.  The recipe I used last year, the kids have already devoured every jar.  So I guess 3 times as many cucumbers would be good.  My father in law planted a watermelon called something like moon and stars that was to die for.  I would like to try those.  They were huge dark green with random yellow spots.  They were not pretty but were so good.  I will do the same on the okra.  I might cut it back a little we had okra it seemed like forever.  I will also plant it right up next to the corn because height wise they were about the same.  This is my plan for now.

Blessings to you all,

Trixi

I pray the Lord leads you to the right place. Remember, He is at work in everything for us. There is nothing that is too big, small, or trivial for Him. Hang in there! He WILL provide!

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
