No  we are in a good area.

38. How do you define homesteader?

This is a great question.  I think it is different for everyone.  I don't think it has anything to do with living on land.  I think homesteading is simplicity of living.  Learning the things of a time that is past.  It's togetherness with your family and community.  My dad once said that if we don't learn the things of my grandmother's time that they would be lost.  I believe that.  I want to pass on the things that I am having to learn of a time that is gone.  I think homesteading is taking joy in the simple things of life.

39.Were you raised in the city or country?

DH and I both were raised in the city.  Oh how much we missed.

Blessings,

Trixi

Quilting

Posted by MamaDuke on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 11:53 - Link

I am halfway through with my first quilt (never having done anything remotely like it before!). I did a 9-patch/block for my daughter and it's about the size of a throw. I finished piecing the top together, but now I'm headed into the quilting phase (you can see my blog on how I'm going to set up my quilting frame). Also, let me know if you have any questions and I'll see if I can help you! I wish you luck and know that you'll be able to do it. I just did a blog on my quilting project also. I absolutely enjoy it. I started my son's quilt (a variation of the Flying Geese - or is it Chasing Geese?). Anyway, his is all military colors (he loves the military). Good luck and happy quilting!

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
