How do you define your homeschool?
Posted on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 03:57 - Post Comment

| This is the day that the Lord has made. |
I have a background in teaching and so it doesn't come easy for me to relax with my homeschooling. I read this post over at K'sMilkmaid and I so long for that type of homeschooling. I tend to lean a little more to the workbook style of schooling. I am doing Considering God's Creation with my 2 younger children, and it is not so workbooky. So maybe slowly I am coming around. LOL. I do treasure the opportunity, to not miss a waking moment, with these blessings God has entrusted me with. We are doing a much better job this year of seeking God first. Matthew 6:33 We are starting our day with our Bible reading and discussion. This makes for a much better day.
Blessings,
Trixi

Thanks for the links I will do more reading into this. My child hates to sit and struggle with his subjects. I too feel that we have to stay on tract of else. I hate that. Thanks again.

We are very much "school at home"

We are very much school at home......and it works for us!! I would lose my mind, and my kids would be a wreck if we tried to "school" as this woman describes in her post!!
I love how God has a unique plan for each and everyone of us......we don't have to follow a "cookie cutter" approach to anything.
I love home schooling because I can educate each of my 3 kids differently, yet under the same roof.
It's awesome.

I am just curious, in what way would you go crazy and how would your children be a wreck if you schooled that way? Tell us more about your "School" at home. I am intrigued.
Thanks

We sit for an hour or less a day to do workbooks (we are doing short days 6 or 7 days a week) then we spend time doing things we enjoy. I've learned that teaching is an additude more then a school. The Bible tells us to teach our kids from morning till night. Not just at the table doing book work. I've looked up the link and the links from that site.

While I don't homeschool, I have so much admiration for those of you who are able to make it work! You amaze and inspire me! Your children are so blessed!

How wonderful to start the day off in God's Word!
We used Considering God's Creation for a couple of years and enjoyed it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
It was nice to hear from you. *Ü*

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
