My hunter's....

Dove season has officially started around our little homestead.  As many of you know, my DH was gone to Iraq last year and he missed 2 hunting season.  Our 9 year old son has just been ecstatic that he gets to go hunting this year.  Well, today was dove hunting.  Which I have to tell you the thoughts of my boys killing doves makes me cringe.  Anyway, they got up at 4:00a.m. and drove an hour to a friend's dove field.  They killed one little pitiful dove and drove home.  That, needless to say, is one expensive dove.LOL. So tonight, as we are grilling our dinner, there will be one little dove on there too.

As for me and the girls, we went to the Prairie Arts Festival.  It's in the neighboring town.  They have their whole main street set up with booths for all forms of arts and crafts, live music, and true southern food.   I didn't buy anything but it is fun to go and look.  The temp. was down to about 82* but it was still soooo hot out there.  I am ready for fall....

I hope all of you are having a great Labor Day Holiday weekend.  We are just enjoying each other this weekend.
