It's Hot, Hot, Hot and Putting up Tomatoes.....

| This is the day that the Lord has made. |
Well there is a heat advisory out today for N. Mississippi. It's in the upper 90's -100's. I worry about the horses. We have no trees. I hate that. I wish they had a tree to get under. We are going to open up the pastures so that they can get under the shelter by the barn. It wont be for a few days though. We are staying on top of their water.
As for canning, I put up 9 more quarts of diced tomatoes yesterday and froze another quart of okra. I also ordered 6 more bushels of peas to go along with all of our peas we have already put up. We only planted 5 rows and I would love to put up 100 bags. I believe I will probably be a little short. Although, our peas are still blooming. My squash is still making and the tomatoes are still going strong. I water all the time, as it hasn't rained substantially since May. I pray it rains soon. My water bill is outrageous. Not to mention that there is no hay to cut which will mean it will be hard for us to find hay for the winter. God works everything out for His good and I am not going to worry about tomorrow.
Blessings,
Trixi

Your garden sounds great. I planted mine too soon and it is done already. I didnt get as much as I would have like too. Enjoy it while you can. And I know what you mean about the water bill. Mine was high too trying to keep the garden watered. I hope you get the rain you need soon.

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
