The simple things are most precious

I am having great success with the crocheting.  It was a little tough getting started but I've now got an actual piece of fabric that looks like something.  WOOHOO.  Now this is only my practice piece and it's all done in single crochet but I'm just thrilled.  It's actually coming easier to me.  So I'll continue to practice and see my teacher again this week.  Thursday night.  She'll teach me a couple of more steps.
It's so fulfilling to create with my hands.  And since I can not get outdoors to garden at all, it's just too cold, this will suffice. 
It's 21 this morning, the ground is still pretty frozen.  This drafty house keeps one dressed in warm layers so we don't pay gas prices thru the roof each month.  Once it warms up we'll finish going thru the house and sealing the windows and doors better so we don't lose all of our a/c when the summer gets really hot.
Time to get the kids up for the day.  Have a wonderful and productive day today.
