West Coast Beach Florida
I'm longing for the ocean

Walden

first published 1854

I am convinced, both by faith and experience, that to maintain one's self on this earth is not a hardship but a pastime, if we will live simply and wisely.

I know exactly the feeling

I too was raised at the shore and I've always found great comfort in the ocean. I can hear God so clearly during an early morning walk on the beach, picking up special seashells along the way, marveling at the delicate nature of the shell, how it can be tossed around in the ocean and not be broken but let "man" pick it up and treat it harshly and it will crumble beneath his fingers. Our souls can be the same.

Thank you Carla for your encouragement.
Love,
Sherri

Siesta Beach, maybe Lido

But it looks like Siesta Key. That is where we just moved from Sarasota, FL, myself and all 5 of our boys were born there, DH's from Michigan. This new little one will be born here in AL.
I love the beach, however being a redhead, the beach didn't always like me. That is a great photo.
God is good, and beaches are a wonderful place to see all of His wonder, looking for it now in the country of AL.

home sweet home

I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL right now. We are moving to TN in March. As excited as I am, I know I will miss the ocean. When you live by the ocean you never get to go as much as you wish. We always drive by and look at it though, or go to the lighthouse.
God definitely dwells at the beach.
Blessings,
Andrea

As a teenager I spent lots of time at the beach but as I grew older and life took over, there was not much time to do so. However, I always knew that it was there and I could escape once in a while to spend and hour or two at the shore. I do miss it. Thanks for visitng and leaving a thought. Best wishes and God speed on your move to TN. It's a different world in the south. Be prepared. *wink wink*
