About Me:
I'm a Christian, mom of three grown children, married for 17 yrs. and divorced for more(although we have still have contact and support each other just about every day). My grown son lives with me now, to help me, but I lived alone for several years. A year ago, my dad moved in with me because he could no longer live alone. He passed away in July. I think that year with him was the best year of my life. I miss him so much.
I'm a Registered Nurse but haven't been able to work for more than 12 yrs. due to complications of systemic lupus, diabetes, severe axonal sensorimotor polyneuropathy, and organ damage. I had a bilateral, below the knee amputation this past July due to prolonged infection in the bones of my feet and ankles for which I've had IV meds at home for more than a year(I use an electric w/c). I'd had enough and had to move on. Now I'm much better, actually more independent, can "walk" farther, and do more things. I've learned in life that sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do it! God will provide. I have two grandchildren who live in front of me and three that live a couple of miles away. I'm so grateful to have them close.
My interests are many as you can see on my blog. I love knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, crafting, reading, painting, gardening(both flowers and veggies), music..anything that feeds into my creative side...I believe in keeping busy. Family is very important to me. My mom, sister, and of course dad, are gone. My granny taught me alot about baking bread and life. I'll treasure all of my memories of all of them.
