We currently rent 9 acres about 2 miles from the Manassas (that's what they call Bull Run down here in the south) Battlefield. We're learning about bugs, chickens, bugs, compost, bugs, cattle (maybe), bugs, gardening, bugs, greenhouses, bugs, old houses, bugs, and life in Virginia.
Some day this (by then) not-so-young pack will move north - God willing - to Alaska (fewer bugs - I'd take just about anywhere North - or here, with a big can of raid), our (hopefully) home for the rest of this time in this the Left hand kingdom (the right hand kingdom being in heaven with God).
We are Quia Confessional Lutherans (that means that we believe the Lutheran confessions Because they accurately teach scripture), "crunchy" (it seems like good stewardship to us), and Classical (I need to think better, so I'm forcing the family to join me) unschooling (that means that frequently I just let it go and they learn anyway) homeschoolers (I'm greedy about my children, I don't want to share them with some stranger for the best part of their day!). |
