Which End is Up?

To Buy or Not to Buy...That is the Question!

Today has me pondering  home buying. Do we get into something we can afford now...or do we rent for 5 years to save up a larger down payment for a bigger better home? It really is a spiritual question...this world is not our home...so how much do we invest and how financially strapped do we allow ourselves to get for this time we are here? On one hand I think we should find something that is "just enough" meeting our needs without any extra bells or whistles....on the other hand we think about the investment factor and stewardship of our time and money and wanting a good return...which brings me back to...a good return for what purpose. My husband and I are having a hard time coming to a decision because we both go back and forth on the matter. I would be thrilled to receive any imput any of you have based on your experiences. THANKS!

We are going through the same thing!!:O)
The only difference is our dilemma is do we save as much as possible and have the largest down payment possible...(and the smallest mortgage) Or do we continue to pay rent on someone elses home?
When we do officially start looking, we are going to look for the smallest house that could fit our needs (and could easily be made larger if needed) and the most land for our money.
I'll be praying for you whatever you decide to do!!:O)
Blessings,
Kelley
