Ebay businessWell, I wanted to get on to some brighter subjects in my life, so I thought I would share a great blessing. I am an entreprenuer at heart, and I am always looking for "business" opportunities. I wanted each of my older kids to start developing their business skills now, while they are young. However, I also have seen time and again, my brilliant efforts fall flat before my eyes. So I knew I needed to wait on the Lord to provide these opportunities. One afternoon, our neighbor came by and dropped off several boxes. She works at the grocery store here on base, and often brings outdated items. This time she brought an entire case of plastic Pilsbury Doughboy picture frames and another case of Pilsbury measuring scoops - almost 100 of each. At the time, I was thinking to myself, "WHAT are we going to do with a case of these things?!" They were not something I would have wanted even 1 of, much less 100. At first I was going to drop them off at Goodwill, but before I had a chance to, I checked Ebay. Sure enough, there they were, being offered for $6, but with no sales. I asked my son if he wanted to list them and see if he could get anything for them. For the last couple of weeks, he has been selling them one by one, making at least $5 on each on. I sure it will take him a while to sell all of them, but to a 10 year old boy, $10-15 a month is a pretty good income. The best part is he can do most all of the work!
October 24, 2007 And the winner is...Yes, I am indeed expecting and as further confirmation my memory has lapsed! Sorry, I had planned to post last Friday and forgot all about it. Charity was the big winner!!! Now I am going to lay down and take a nap with the 2 year old. Hopefully I will make it back online at least a few times in the next couple of months. September 19, 2007 Creative uses for Kool-Aid JammersI feel like I have gotten so much done this week! Isn't that a great feeling. Here is my latest creation. Kool-Aid bags and Bible covers. My friend had shown me how to make the bags, so we went and bought a case of Kool-Aid Jammers (my kids were so excited, these were a real treat for them!). My daughter and I were brainstorming ways to use the empty packages, and we came up with the Bible cover idea. They are so cute and so cheap to make. I thought it would be more difficult to sew, but it turned out to be so simple.
August 14, 2007 Website UpdateI am nearing completion on my new website Ponder the Path. I say completion, but I don't know if it will ever feel "completed" -- it's an ongoing process. However, I do have the framework there, I just need to fill it with wonderful resources and articles. Christi from Art Designs by Christi has finished up a wonderful image to link to my "store" (actually my son's store--he sells soap). Here is the design: She did such a great job! Christi was so quick about getting it done, and so easy to work with. I highly recommend her. Articles Family (marriage, pregnancy, child training, breastfeeding, quiverfull) August 1, 2007 Need Graphic Art HelpEdited to add: I have found a graphic artist! In looking through her portfolio, I was very impressed. And her rates seemed very reasonable as well. I guess I thought that the price would be outrageous! So thankful it was within my meager budget. Will post my goodies when she is done. Her name is Christi and here is the link to her site Art Designs by Christi I am finishing up some work on my website and really need to find someone to help me with some graphic art. I am looking for some type of design that will be placed on my homepage linking to our "store" (actually not much of a store, just a few bars of soap |
