Beauty amid carnage

Look at how my Four O'clocks are managing to bloom--despite the mess the Japanese beetles have made of the foliage.  I caught the little pests on my basil yesterday and yes, I admit it, I fully enjoyed smashing their little carapaces to bits.

They were hungry little buggers. I love the color of them. I have them as well. They press and dry nice for crafts, and if you pound them onto cloth, the color stays nice.

You’re St. Melito of Sardis!

You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins.

Find out which Church Father you are at The Way of the Fathers!
