The Paschal Home

HI! I haven't posted anything in such a long time. I've been trying to put all my energy into homeschooling. Now that I finally have curriculum I want to make up for all the time we lost when I was just trying to get by on nothing. I think if we go for 4 weeks into the summer, then we will be totally caught up on everything that I wanted to accomplish before 1st grade. And the best news is that my 3 year old ( almost 4) is FINALLY showing interest in wanting to learn stuff. He's so much further behind than any of the other ones were at his age. He has just not wanted to learn anything. He's always gotten mad if you try to work with him on his letters or tried to teach him to draw shapes. But just these last few weeks he's started asking me what certain letters are when he sees them. And he's been bringing me books so I will work with him! YAY!!!! It's not that he was developmentally behind. Realistically he's not expected to learn this stuff until he's 5. But I was just afraid he's NEVER want to learn. It has to be his idea.
Here is Arkansas we've gotten record breaking rainfall. Everywhere is flooded. I live on a mountain so I'm okay, but all of our springs are over full so our yard and driveway are just MUD! And most of our grass has washed down the mountain again. I wish I knew what I could plant that would live in very rocky thin soil, and NOT wash away so easily. And why can't the WEEDS wash away too? Our yard looks SOOOOO bad. It's been too wet to do anything. I think tomorrow might be the day though. I'm so looking forward to a day of hard yard work, and the wonderful feeling you get when are finished and your yard looks reformed! I may even get my garden planted! It's way later than I usually plant, but the weather has been against me!
Well, I better go get prettied up for when Hubby gets home! I've been cleaning out closets all day and look like something the cat drug in. He doesn't deserve to have to see this!
God Bless!

About Me
Here on the side of our little Arkansas mountain. Our family includes me, Allison, my husband Justin, my step daughters (14 yo twins) "Bert" and "Nic", our sons (6yo) "Si", and (3yo) "Roo". Next door are the in-laws Wendy and Dan. And between the two homes, we have 3 dogs and two gardens. We live next to a National Forrest so we see all sorts of wildlife. We love homeschooling, gardening, whole food cooking, quilting, crafting, and having bonfires!
