General cleaning today

Decluttering has begun!

...but not in the boys' room! We started in the parents' bedroom, instead. Our mattress/box springs were OLD (we got them from my inlaws) and just didn't support well, and we were waking up hurting. So we are going back to our old ones, which are, unfortunately, full size instead of queen... but it's worth the less space to not hurt!

So anyway, we took the OLD mattress/box springs out to the side of the road, and began cleaning out under them.

We threw away 2 35-gallon bags, so far, plus one box. Just from under the bed! Eek! Well, part was from under my husband's desk. But still.

Ok, I didn't get any work done today

I have company today so I didn't get any work done in the boys' room.

I did, however, take pictures.

Ok, first, their closet is done! I got it done the other day.

One bright spot in the otherwise horrible room.

The rest of the room:
<- from the hallway; the worst part of the remaining floor mess.

<- the 12yo's bed, with toys on it
<- the 9yo's bed, with bedclothes & coats/jackets on it
<-the 6yo's bed, with ... I don't know what on it.

So, that's what I have to deal with.

The Boys' Room

The boys' room (3 boys, ages 12, 9, and 6 currently reside there) is the cesspool of this house. Although, it isn't as bad as it was last week, since I've already done some work in there.

My first project is to get it FINISHED.

Finished includes:

- clean closet (this is actually already done)
- clean under the futon
- clean under the bunkbed
- clean under the dressers
- main floor clean
- dressers containing what they ought, neatly
- closet containing dress clothes and all toys, LOCKED
- only 4-5 outfits per boy

We also have plans to pull up the (nasty!) carpet and put down some kind of hard floor. Preferably hardwood, but at this point, anything easier to keep clean than carpet will do, I suspect.

I'll be doing some work in there today - I will get photos!

I intend to isolate and excise excessive effects impinging on my enjoyment of my environment and family.

Ok, to put it simply, and with less alliteration -- I gotta declutter!
