2008-Jul-25 - STOP THAT THIEF!
Soooo….I quietly go about making the family bread…but started noticing that each time I was making it, the regular crowd would stream in through the kitchen for a slab, fresh out of the oven with some butter…but SOMEONE was tearing these big chunks out of the loaves!
This couldn’t be my precious children doing this! *gasp!* nah….I thought this was a husband move for sure….alas, I caught the little thief, red handed!!
I was close, not my husband, but his son! Okay, my son…..but I couldn’t believe it! My husband says to take it as a compliment, he loves your homemade bread….just to prove he loves it….he did it again the next time I made bread, he knocked over the 25# bag of spuds I had there as a deterent, and used them as a step!
He’s so darned cute, it’s hard to get mad….lol! Guess if I want prefect loaves I’d best find a new place to cool them……up much higher!
Nah….I’ll just leave ‘em low….gives a good feeling that even the 1.5yo appreciates Mamas homemade bread, even if he is running thru the kitchen grabbing hunks and running away….giggling all the way

...how CUTE is THAT?! Yes, I would agree w/your dh and say that it IS a compliment. There are so many times, when they're that age, that they turn their little noses up to just about everything...at least you know ONE thing that you can tempt him with!
By the way...I have a great recipe for Flaxseed Bread - it's our regular family bread - if you would ever want to use it.

Oh, I love homemade bread too! But I would like a slice, not a chunk! Guess your little guy does like it in chunks... haha... well, he LOVES your bread!
Maybe you should be glad that he doesn't try to cut himself... that would be dangerous. Sounds like our little guy... he's two, and thinks he can do anything.
Got a recipe for that lovely looking bread? I would like to make a few loaves.. I haven't in so long! I am a bake-aholic, by the. And I love getting recipes from other homesteaders. :)
