Romneys speech
I have posted the text to Mitt Romey's speech on faith below as I thought he did an absolutely fantastic job. This was not written by his speechwriters, but personally by him. Whether or not you are voting for him, I thought this speech made a lot of good points about the common faith of our country. We need a President that respects and recognizes the hand of God in the affairs of this country.
Religion is not something that we are supposed to protect the state from, it is something we are supposed to protect FROM the state. I had not meant to make this blog go political this early, but some things are too important not to be said.
This country was built on prayers and faith, and it will only be saved from itself by prayers and faith. Please read the text below and let me know your thoughts. Regardless of your political views, Romney should be recognized as a man of faith, and integrity, and family values.

Thanks for the post -- there are a few things about Mitt that are concerning to me.... mostly how he has changed his tune on some key moral issues...... hubby and I hope to vote for Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee. Moral issues and our constitution is a key issue to us as well as border control.
Blessings~

I have to agree with Gloria. He talks a great game but his past and his record show that he is lacking on the moral issues such as sanctity of life. Which for our family is a deal breaker. We are going with Huckabee.

I live here in Massachusetts, where Romney was governor. We have a liberally controlled house and state senate. There is no balance of power - it is pretty much a monopoly. A republican governor does not have much chance to stem the tide of filth that they would like to promote. In order to even get elected, to be able to try to do some good, you have to much more liberal than in any other state. If your reservations are about comments made during his election run here, or some of the things that got passed while he was here, know that most of them were not his fault, and were pushed through by our corrupt judges (i.e. Gay marriage) and he fought them as hard as he could.
In spite of the shackels of a liberal sinkhole, corrupt judges, and a very liberal voter base, he was still able to accomplish much good. If he made himself sound a little too liberal, it was solely in the heat of the battle to get elected here in Mass. Being of the same religion, I can tell you that his own personal beliefs highly regard the sanctity of life, and oppose those things which ruin the family. I know this wont change your vote for the primary, but in the event that Romney wins the primary, I hope it will you give you confidence to back him against whatever candidate the Dems throw at us.
I appreciate your comments.

Brenda,
Thanks for your remarks -- you mentioned one thing that is exactly why we won't vote for Mr. Romney and that is in the "heat of the battle" he does soften his values..... that is deeply concerning to me..... the real test in life comes when everyone throws the book at us and whether we will stand clear to our convictions. Mr. Romney's track record has been far too liberal for me. I am concerned if elected he will under fire, become as soft or softer than he was as governor. There is a lot of pressure to compromise when one is a leader - we need a man who knows how to stand up for the values and morals that many Americans continue to live by and live.
With all due respect,
gloria
