At Home in Georgia

My Little Garden!

05:43, Monday, March 17, 2008 .. Posted in Subdivision Homesteading .. 2 comments .. Link

I love living in GA.  While my Michigan family and friends are still plowing their driveways, I'm watching broccoli and peas appearing in my garden!   But I'm not really gloating, I'm really just amazed that I can have a little garden started already in mid-March.  I have lettuce, tomatoes, and more broccoli started indoors, and we planted some spring flower bulbs outside today.

Now... the real test will be if I can keep them all alive until there's something worthy of eating.

I also live in GA. and we were working on making our garden yesterday....getting a late start since we moved and are having to set up a whole new garden this year. My parents live about 2 hours north of me, in Gwinnett Co., and they already have peas (and other stuff I can't remember what) coming up also. What I always am excited to plant is TOMATOES!!! I love fresh tomatoes.
