I loved reading this. It's nice to know someone else believes that it is a lack of the fear of God that is causing many to fall away. I believe this too and have seen it happen so many times. When I think of my childhood and my christian upbringing, and then my teen years where I was put into many situations where I could have 'crossed the line' and didn't, I asked myself years later what was it that my parents did right, and what was it that made me stay on the right side of that line, and I know it is because when I was little my parents taught me the Fear of God. I hope that I can pass that on to my children too.

I'm just wondering respectfully what makes you feel that the image you put in further down the blog (in the post 'For What Are You Living?') is any better? Just an earlier equivalent, surely - Jesus and His disciples were not well groomed white anglo saxons!
I hope you don't take this amiss, I like your blog, but I genuinely wonder what you think about this.

The difference that I see in the two kinds of pictures is that the one I put of Jesus and His disciples is a
REALISTIC painting, giving the idea that they were real people just like we are (although like you said, they weren't anglo saxons, and I don't believe Jesus had such long hair either). The Bible is NOT part of the make-believe world. That's why we don't give our children Bible story books with cartoonish pictures - only ones that show realistic ones. But it can be sort-of hard to find books that have all the details appropriately depicted, and we tell our children that we don't know exactly how Jesus looked - that was just how one artist imagined Him to look, though of course we are convinced from the Scriptures that He had a beard. One thing that artists usually do is try to make Jesus look really handsome, but from the Scriptures we read that He was not so.
