November 19, 2008

It has once again been a while since I have added anything to my blog! Well so many different things have happened since my last entry.

We have ended the courtship with Nathan. Thankfully we are still able to be friends. This is a blessing, because I still enjoy his friendship. I believe that that is one of the true blessings of courtship, if things do not happen as we want them to we can still be brother and sister in Christ. I don't really know what else to say on the subject except that, we have learned A LOT about courtship, and are now not so blind as to what is coming. I have told my mother that the next time some one is interested in me I do not want to know until my father has gotten to know him.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I would appreciate any prayers for my birth mother who is going into surgery on the third of December. She is going to have a hysterectomy (spelling???) I am praying that she will be able to heal and adjust quickly! I am planning to go visit for Christmas.

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is around the corner? I am sure that the time only goes faster the older you get. When I was younger I felt that it took FOREVER for a year to go by. Now I blink and we are nearing the end of 2008. The Juggler suggested that we make place mats. I think that this could be tons of fun, so I am going to google designs for Thanksgiving place mats. My wonderful...most amazing....lovely....spictacular (thank you mother dearest) mother is giving us next week off of school! I plan to get caught up on Christmas gifts that I am making, and Spanish....some how I got a few weeks behind...:(

I have been reading for the past two weeks

To Kill a Mockingbird     By: Harper Lee

I am really enjoying this book, except for the foul language. It is really horrible how people treated others! They surly did not love one another as they did themselves.

Well Little Bear is trying to get into my lap...and I have to put the key board away when her little fingers are in reaching distance....

A new baby

We are all but unhappy in our home. My father announced that my mother is expecting number seven.

We are all ready, and so happy that God decided to use are family to raise this precious child. It will be awhile before we all get to fight who over holds the baby. Of corse the Rubber (5) just says we need triplets. That could be fun...I would not mind!

Well I am so excited that we get to have a new baby in our house, but there are so many people who say things like. Oh congradulations...I think. or HOW MANY IS THAT....well I am sure most of you know what I mean, as you probably have experianced those nosey people also.

Thank you God for blessing our family with this gift.

Happy Birthday Samantha

My sweet sister is 8  today! When she was born we did not think she would live, her heart was to big for her. She was put onto tons of machines . The next ten days of her life we spent praying that God would spare us a sister. God listened, and now she is a beautiful growing girl.

Happy birthday Samantha, may God guide your ways. Follow his ways and let no man pull you from the path of our Savior.

October 13, 2008

Today was quite the day, dad stayed home and we spent the day in the wonderful company of each other!

My darling mother came and woke me up at seven this morning; I must say that I hate getting up in the morning!

When I wake up in the morning I just want to lay there and enjoy the noises going on around me. For years I would listen to my father ironing his uniform.

I loved waking up to this, because it made me feel how very near he was. I hardly get to wake up to this blessed noise now for two reasons, the military keeps him away from home quite a bit lately, and they switched to uniforms that do not need to be ironed! (How rude)

Now I get to wake up to my mother running on the treadmill, though this sound is not as wonderful to me, I do love knowing she is up.

If she is not running, she is unloading the dishes. Now this sound I do love, because the sound the dishes being put where they belong makes me feel like the day is really beginning. I also adore it when my mother is talking to Little Bear. The sweet girl tries so hard to imitate what my mother said. She ends up speaking gibberish, but it warms my sprit. This is a good thing, because I hate getting out from my warm covers, the warmth and comfort I feel under my covers is found no where else. I love lying in bed and praying. There are so many things I talk to God about when I wake up. Mostly that I will honor him with the day I am faced with.

Photobucket

Today in bible devotions we talked about diligence.

Proverbs 6:6

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!

Photobucket

(this is a cake I made a while back)

I quickly said a prayer once I read these words; it went something like this…

Lord I am not as diligent as an ant, but through you I can be.

Give me the strength do your will; let me do my tasks as an ant does his.

After devotions we went with dad, to bring a bunch of garbage to the recycling. We had to go to three different places, because no where takes everything! The Juggler was able to earn $2.90 from the aluminum cans.

We also had to go the storage shed, packing for our vacation next week will be interesting. We are going to try a new way of packing for six. We are going to pack one day worth of clothes for each person in each suit case. This way we will just have to bring in one suit case in at a time.

Once we got home we hit the books. I was a little behind on Grammar (as you can read I need this lesson) I caught up YEAH!!!! I gave the Juggler her spelling test, fixed my vocabulary from last week, and did my math lesson.

Then my parents left me with the girls so they could run some errands. We jumped on the trampoline (the Doodler had a lot to teach me!) We danced to the music on the Jugglers blog, and we enjoyed each other’s company. I want to remember the days I spend at home as an older sister as some of the best days.

My parents brought lunch home, and then it was time for History. We are studying ~The Roaring Twenties~ We are having a ball learning about the fashion, although this is how our sinful world got into the trouble it is in today. Never has our culture been so naked! It all started with the Roaring Twenties. Things got shorter, and they didn’t seem to stop.

Tonight I am going to start my English book Babbitt I have no idea what it is about, as I have never heard of it. It was written by Sinclair Lewis in 1922 so I am guessing that it will be about the Jazz age J

May the Lord bless you as richly as he has me,

Days of Grace

I don't know about you, but I feel like this year is going WAY to fast.

It seems like just yesterday that we started school, and now we are getting ready

to go on Vcation next week.

My sweet Little Bear is already one :0 she was just born YESTERDAY.

Why is it that the older you get the faster time goes?

Photobucket

Was she not the most precious baby?

Photobucket

She just never stops being wonderful. What a wonderful blessing she is to our home.

Sweet Little Bear I pray that you will love the Lord your God  with all your heart soul, and mind.

That you will give up your will, that you will continue to bless

everyone that you meet.

You were made to stand out, you were made to bring glory to our King. Let us rejoice in him always,

and let us lift up His holy name, even when it is unpopular.

I love you sweet girl!

Nathan's birthday is comming up, the sad thing is that we will not even be here for it! I must say he wants some weird things for his birthday.... they are all things for his truck...

May the Lord bless your day

Sing a song to the King

I just have a heart of song today, so I thought I would share a hymn that I love! I am not worthy of what God has given me, and everything I can give him is far from what it should be. I long to be like Jesus, to get away from this sinful world will be a wonderful thing :)

Imortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

Immortal invisible, God only wise,

in light inaccessibble hid from our eyes,

most blessed most glorious, the ancient of Days,

almighty victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting unhasting and silent as light,

nor wanting nor wasting thou rulest in might;

thy justice like mountians high soaring above

thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,

thine angles adore thee, all veiling their sight;

all praise we would render; O help us to see

'tis only the splendor of light hideth thee!

I love the words to this hymn. Don't you just feel the words flowing together, giving God praise that only he is worthy of. Even as we give him this praise he deserves so much more!

Just EVERYTHING

To celebrate my little sisters 100th entry she is having a give away. I hope you will go visite her blog, and enter in the give away...(she is really excited)

Photobucket

On Wed. we celebrated our youth paster's birthday, buy dressing up crazy! It was quite funny, he did not expect us to all walk in looking like we just came from the salvation army. (Yes I am the one in the leg warmers, and seatbelt)

Photobucket

Hope this gives you quite a smile :)

Photobucket

But if it does not then this should.

Can you beleive how fast this year has gone? I feel as thought I have hundreds of Christmas projects to do, but not enough time. I hope I will be able to compleat the gifts I am doing for the girls in the church...I will not tell you what they are because a few of those girls read my blog!!!!

(this is the movie cover)

Right now I am reading a book called All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. What an amazing story! It is quite sad, because to think of living like that we would have to give up a lot. I find it quite encouraging, we all struggle through many things.

I am also reading a book called Home-Making by J.R. Miller

There are a lot of useful things in this book so far. I hope that one day I can be a woman who many people call noble. I want to live my life for Christ, doing everything to honor him. As a child I am seeking how to be better.

Yesterday my sisters took a "test" if you will on how good I was as an older sister.

I passed on all but one thing...Cleaning up after them without telling them that it needed to be done, or telling them to come help. I am almost a good sister....according to their chart, but I have a long way to go according to mine.

~Take a vote~

I hope everone is having a wonderful week! As it is Monday my day is full :) Any ways for my writting assignment I had to write a descriptive essay. I have two descriptive essays I would like you to read. Then I want you to vote on which one you think is better. The one that makes you feel as thought you were really there.

Essay #1

There are many places to see in this world. Some that are hot, and some that are colder than imaginable. If I had to choose one place I would love to see I would choose Paris. I have never been there, but when I imagine it this it what I feel.

As I closed my eyes I felt the cool air touch my warm face, and smelt the baking bread mingled with a strong I ssmell of sweet coffee. As tuck my hands into my pocket I looked around me the little cars zooming by, and the brilliant lights that lit the streets, making it seem like a movie. Making it all come to life the Eiffel Tower shown in the midnight air. It lit up the dark sky, as gold shown around this giant of Paris.

All around me I heard people speaking a language I could not understand, the sound of car horns from the crowded streets seemed as if life could not exist without it. The buildings being so close together, reminded me of a coldasack. If you were in one building you were likely to hear people in all directions.

As I walked along I noticed how hungry I was. I was fascinated with a little café and decided to try it. As I walked in, the cold air became warm. People were sitting together reading, talking, and enjoying their warm coffee. The people seemed friendly, and ready to help me understand something foreign. After ordering my soup I sat down in a cozy corner to view all I could possibly take in at a time. The employes hurried in the kitchen, and shouted orders to the men prepared the food was something to be seen. Young woman sat close together on a couch by a bright fire place, reading a poem. A group of men sat listening with all interest to the words of this foreign poem. The soup was delicious. I have always heard the food in Paris was the best of its kind, and now I believed it. Yes, sitting in the coffee shop gave me a real feeling of how every day life in Paris would be, and I longed to be home again. I was very happy with how majestic everything was, but I could not help loving where my family was. So I opened my eyes talking in all the smells, sounds, and sites that I loved.

Essay # 2

We all know that the heart is the most important organ. I believe our own house has a room that pumps blood into the rest of the house. Our own kitchen is the center of our house; people come and go as blood circulates through the heart.

No matter the time of day there is always a smell escaping from the kitchen. As soon as I wake up the smell of baking bread, or sometimes pancakes makes it a lot easier to pull my sleepy head from its resting place. Throughout the day delicious smells make your mouth water. Cookies, pies, cakes, sticky buns, and many more tasty treats make you happy when lunch time is finally there. These thick smells seem to be happy trapped between the red walls, and the hard wood floors, slowly creeping into the rest of the house letting everyone know meal time is quickly approaching.

The heart of our house makes a peacock look dull. Signs that have a good country feel adorn the walls. Books with hundreds of heavenly recipes are scattered everywhere, just like a kitten never still for a moment, always running free. There is always a mountain in the sink. No matter how hard we try we are always afraid of an avalanche, one never knows when the dishes will topple over. We have yet to find a way to keep up with them.

Through all these wonderful things to see, you can taste the sweetness of the air. When fresh bread is baking you can open your mouth and can almost taste it. When you stick a freshly baked cookie into your mouth you can not help but savor every taste. Every now and then there will be a slimy piece of lettuce in our salad, these tastes are not as pleasant as it tastes like a slug has become your next meal. The salt and the pepper are normally mixed together well, creating a meal that tastes delightful. “A party in the mouth,” as some put it.

From a different room you would only wonder what on earth could make so much noise in a home. The pots and pans crash together as symbols announcing a high school band. Glasses hit one another reminding you that music is an easy thing to come by. The rhythms of the kitchen have yet to come together, they sound like an orchestra tuning their instruments, or a child just learning to play the violin. The trash can lid seems to sway back and forth with a little squeak just to let you know it is still there. When the table is being set you can hear the plates being set upon the wooden table, and when the dishes are being washed you can envision a water fall hitting tons of rocks at the bottom.

The dough is sticky and the meats are cold. Early in the morning if you get out of your bed to go and get a drink you are sure to feel the cold, smooth floors under your warm feet. Every now and then when a glass has shattered on the floor pieces have been missed by the sweeper. Stepping on one of those pieces may cause you to fall in to the sharp counter’s edge. Though the counter top is smooth the edges are something to fear. Finally, you feel the warm rug in the center of the kitchen under your now cold feet. You reach for a glass and fill it with the wet water you know will clench your thirst. The glass feels smooth, and the water feels even better on your dry throat.

When no one is in the kitchen it still seems to keep going. The almost silent hum of the refrigerator never stops, it seems to be saying, “Be off, I will make sure all the food is cold when you return.” The slow swishing of water circulating in the dishwasher makes the sink sound as though it is gargling. The coffee pot makes our home smell good, and clicks while perking a cup of coffee letting you know your energy is on the way. Our kitchen is truly the heart of the house. It keeps the rest of the house moving.

Thank you for reading my essays now pleas take a vote. :) This will let me know if my writting has inporved over a year. If you see any mistakes please let me know.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was our third president (1801-1809)! We have a lot to thank him for, during his presidency he made the Louisiana Purchase, and had the Louis and Clark expodition.

In John Trumbull's painting Declaration of Independence, the five-man drafting committee is presenting its work to the Continental Congress. Jefferson is the tall figure in the center laying the Declaration on the desk.

He was also the man who wrote the Decleration of Independence in 1776.

This week in my writting work I cam across a quote by Thomas Jefferson that I like.

"No (style) of writting is so delightful as that which is all pith, which never omits a necesarry word, nor uses an unnecessary one."

This is always something I have strugled with, because I preffer to do my compleat writting assignment in fifteen minutes, and call it a day. I write good papers this way, but by taking the lazy way out I do not write a great paper. I cause my readers to suffer, and do not show them all my talent (if that is what you want to call it).

Sunday afternoon

Today I was able to go with Nathan and his family to his uncle and auints house for lunch. Once a month their family gets together for dinner. We had a good time, and mainly talked about how his older sister was going into the hospital to be enduced tomorrow night. We then proceeded to go spend the rest of the afternoon at his house. Of corse we had a good time just sitting there talking about everything under the sun.

Tomorrow we beging our second week of school! I am very glad that God has given my mother the drive to teach us at home. She really shows me what a Proverbs 31 woman is. I only pray that one day I can too be a Proverbs 31 woman like her.

I hope you all had wonderful Sundays.

Here I am~

I have a feeling people just don't check my blog any more, because I don't write that offten! I am going to work on that!

We started school on Monday, it is a rather bitter sweet year for me. I am kind of sad when I think about how next year I will not be doing any school at home. I can honestly say I am not that excited to be done. It will be very neat though, because I will be able to help my mom a lot more. Doing lesson plans, and teaching the little girls. I want to be my mothers right hand, have things done that she would have never even thought about. (wish me luck with this because my mother is beyond amazing)

I was so glad to come home, but the most exciting part was seeing Nathan. (Sadly he is on Vk with his family this week) He came over and brought me beautiful roses! We went to dinner and then hung out at his house. His older sister is expecting a little girl any day. She is really excited. His other sister just went off to her second year of collage.

Home is where I long to be, there is no other place on earth that makes me so happy.

Long time

(They finnished the ship made from the world trade center! Her logo is "Never Forget" sadly I think they will, as they slip away from God history is rewritten every day)

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a while! (again) Right now I am in Navada. We are leaving on the 13 to go meet my family. I am so excited, because I miss my darling sisters more than I can explain. I can't wait to get home and see Nathan.

I have had a good time with my grandparents (as I do love to be spoiled) They have taken me to some pretty cool places. I went to a car show called Hot August Nights! I have a new found love for old cars! They were very cool. We also went to Vergina City, we took a ride on an old steam engian train and I fell in love with the view. I think that seeing the mountians in that way gave me that joy you feel when you just want to jump up and thank the Lord. He was so good to give us so many good things to look at when creating the world.

My grandpa has also taken the time to show me my family tree. This summer I have learned a lot about my family's history. My Auint Sylvia shared a lot of wonderful stories with me, and I can't wait to get home and tell them to you. I am sure you will be just as happy to see God's hand in delivering so many people as I was am.

I have ton's of pictures to show everyone when I get home, but I forgot my cord!

Hello from the sunny state

Okay I know it has been a really long time since I have posted a new entry. I did type one up a while ago, but it was deleted! There is nothing more aggravating than writing a long entry and having it disappear.

When I got here, I was surprised to see my friend Jenny! She lives in Germany and I only get to see her once or twice a year. We were walking through Wal-Mart when I saw her. You know when you see someone who you think there is no way of seeing for a long time! I looked at her and was not sure if it was her or my imagination. When I looked again I knew it was her. Needless to say there was quite a bit of squealing in Wal-Mart.

She only stayed for two weeks, because she had to get back and get an apartment. We had a good time!

I am still in California for a week, then I am going to Nevada. I will not get home for another few weeks, but I am dieing to see my family.

I want to end this post in a way that I hope to get lots of commits!!!! I think that is the best part of bloging, reading what people think.

So tell me what the funniest moment was on a vacation you took.

Long time

Wow, this week has just flown by! I leave the house tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. My flight takes off at 6:45 I am so thankful that the air port we are able to go to is SMALL...Any ways I am going to need your prayers! I just want to be a good bright light for Christ. I want everything I do to be a positive reflection of his holy love. He is so great and I am so small yet he chooses me! I know this should be my look on the situation always! Pleas pray that I will be a good and faithful servant.

Some wonderful things that happened this week! Praise the Lord I finished my Spanish! I also went to the Dr. Yesterday for my back. They measured it and my scoliosis has stayed the same...They want to see me again in six months. Wow I have had more x-ray's this month than is probably good for me. I wonder if getting x-rays is bad for you~

I absolutely LOVE the church God has put us into! The people are SOOOO wonderful. Saying good buy to them tonight was really hard. Epically Nathan . They were all so wonderful and prayed for my trip. Paster said that I would be flying on wings of prayer. It is funny how it works we pray that God will guide our paths, yet at the same time we are secretly making our own paths!

I hope to blog while gone

But my favorite Bible verse is

Revelations 22:21

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen

It is the last verse in the bible and the most rewarding! For God's grace will be with us!!!! WOW who deserves such a blessing!

Here today gone tomorrow

I am getting ready to go on my summer trip.

I am going to California in three days! From CA I fly to Navada. From there I am driving with my grandparents to Massachusetts. My parents will meet me there with my sisters and we will all drive home together.

I know God is in controll but I must admit that I don't really want to go. I am going to miss my dear family, but I know that I shall see them again.

I put a new game on my Blog!!! What do you think of it? I hope to do a real entry soon. (before I leave)

PureNRG

My darling sister has found something she just loves! A band called PureNRG. If you have gone to her site you will see that her last 4 entries were about this band.  When I tagged her she said if she had a billon dollars she would give to the poor and go to a PureNRG concert. At least this band is not bad. If it was another High School Musical thing I am sure I would die!

Any way if you have already read my sister's blog, and if she has put this on there already then don't watch it. I like this song, it is pretty cute.

They really do have a lot of energy!

~Another year~

This is one of my very favorite verses:

                                                                 1 Peter 4:8:
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Yesterday was my eighteenth birthday. I am so thankful to my King for this year that has flown by. This year I want to do what 1 Peter says. Love everyone so deeply that forgiveness is so done before the crime. I am always needing to be forgiven! I am also always given the forgiveness I need. Lord help me forgive as you have forgiven me!

Throughout this year I only want to grow closer to Christ, I want to become more like Jesus every day, and I want people to see his light through me. He has given me more than I could ever ask for, yet some how I find a way to keep asking! Now I want to be content with what he does in my life, and to be thankful even when I don't understand.

I am really excited, because my parents got me a new Bible for my birthday!!! I will poste a picture when it gets here
