Life is good

I am doing much better this week after the tragedy of last week. Over that following weekend I had a busy weekend with the kids plus my neices stayed over and so did DD1's friend and DS1's friend. We went to Nairobi watched Rugby and ate out twice!! You all know how much I love to eat especially when I don't have to cook it!!!! During that week since it was still midterm for Moffat I was able to go up to Little Lambs and just hang out. Rachel, the director of that center taught all the girls how to knit so they were all busy knitting away and talking, talking, talking. it was good. Then the final thing that broke me out was our family friend, Givan , a Masaii, came over and one thing led to another and we were all jumping up and down in the living room( masaii are known for jumping high and straight up)!!!! I thought to myself, this is real and it is MY life and it is pretty cool!!!! So I feel better becuase as my friend Lori said to me on the phone one night "it is the joy of the Lord" . i still had a few stressful and frustrating things happen but I am ok. Today I thought I need a vacation from this place beause I felt tired but then I got home and I heard a chirping sound from our chicken coop and there was , just out of the egg, a wet little yellow chick!!! New life is all it's sweet innocence!! By tomorrow there should be more! So life is good. I love my hubby, I love my children and the new ones he has given me to love and I am loved by the One who created the universe so no more complaints (at least not today!!!) !!!!!!!

Hi, Ellen, I'm glad you're feeling better. How cool to have a baby chick in the hen house, with more to come. So, can an "old" white woman like you jump as high as the Masaii? What's the secret? I shared your last post story with a few folks at church who don't read the blog, I wish we could get parts of your blog posts into the bulletin or somewhere so people can read about what goes on, both the good and not so good. For those of us who can not come to Kenya right now, we can love and visit the people of Africa through your stories (although I still harbor secret desires to come to Africa and play with the band). Maybe an expanded CFC web site would offer an opportunity to link to your posts, or post excerpts - I'll have to think on it, eh? Talk to you soon- Love, Chris
