Yesterday I went to visit 3 of our Little Lambs kids at their home. Their names are Salome, Gichoya and Ng'a ng'a. They are brother and sister from the same mom but all have different fathers. Their mom is HIV positive but seems to be "healthy" these days. She takes her ARVs so she remains relatively healthy. She got AIDS from sleeping around with men, some for money some because they took care of her for awhile. She sold wine and herself for years. She bore 10 children most don't have the same father. Now she still has 4 of her own at home and is raising 4 of her grandchildren. Her son and his "Wife" can't be bothered to take care of their own children. Salome is about 14 years old and is "blossoming". She is a beautiful girl with a sweet child like personality. She is top in her class, speaks perfect English and her future looks bleak. Her mother still entertains men in her home (when I came there were 2 there) and someday I worry that one of those men will notice the young beauty in rags outside washing the clothes. But I pray for protection and strength and determination on her part. Gichoya and Ng'a ng' are alos top in their class with perfect English. They are 13 and 15 years old and are quite handsome. There are few men in their lives but they are quite manly. Gichoya built a rabbit cage himself and raises rabbits as pets. he is proud of his rabbits and offered one to me as a gift. Ng'a ng'a has an eye problem that clouds up his eyes and hurts but he can see ok in school. there is no money to have them looked at so he has lived this way for years. As for their HIV status, no one knows. They haven't been tested because their mom " thinks they look ok" so who knows. They are healthy for the most part but only God knows their future. The grandchildren are skinny and of course wearing rags. Thier bellys are swollen from worms and when I was there the girl was sitting in the rabbit manure pile !! What can I do for these kids. Little lambs does alot for them by feeding them and loving them but what about the grand children? and the living conditions etc... I can love them and pray for them and visit them (that is a sign of great love here in this culture). I can hopefully bring him to the eye doctor for a check up but now the money is not here so I will wait awhile longer too. Maybe you can pray for them right now. These are 3 kids story , I could tell you about 3 kids with no mother and sporatic food on the table , or the girl whose mother refused to send her daughter to school so she could take care of the younger siblings or the girl who broke her hip and no one took to the hospital and now she is deformed. Or the boy who was burned with 3rd degree burns and left alone with physical and emotional scars but I won't, not today at least.....

I have read your story and am touched emotionally. I would respond more but it would not make a difference for these children. I will just pray.
Blessings,
Trixi

Thank you for breaking hearts by sharing to let others see the needs there! And thank you for answering the Lord's call to be there. I pray that He will continue to use you in His way-
