Weekend activites

I am back to my old self now except for the cold I have. I am thankful for my health. Funny how that works, when you get sick you learn again to thank God for the ability to work and take care of others!! Bruce and Levi are away this long week end . They are climbing Mt Kenya wih some other fathers and sons. So we are here enjoying the relaxing mid term break. Yesterday we had J, B, and M over. I never really got to talk to Beth about salvation but we did have a great time together. The girls and her played Amer. girl dolls all afternoon. It reminded me of Terry's generous giving as I looked at Beth with "her" Addy and Sadie with her doll straped to her back by a blanket made by Terry. Mwangi played so nicely with the cars we have and John Played outside with the soccer ball. I brought them home around 4 and spent the night watching old VCR movies we haven't watched in years, like Madeline and Harriet the Spy. Tomorrow Gladys and I will take Shilo , a little lamb girl, to the Ear, nose and throat clinic put on at the hospital by visiting ENT doc from US. People wait all year for this team to come so we will be sitting there all day I am sure. She doesn't hear well and her school work is suffering. I also have to take the time to play a trick on Beth. She wants chips from the duka (chips are french fries) because she is getting tired of the beans and maize she eats everyday at the feeding program. Remember this is the girl who dies of embarassement to be seen with me. So I told her if she wanted chips at lunch I would stand near the feeding line and if she came up to me and kissed me on the check I would give her the money for the chips. Of course I am not really going to make her kiss me but we will have fun with it, or I should say John and I will !! She has quite a personality. She likes to fool around alot but she doesn't like to be the one who the joke is on at all !!! They all have fun personalities, yesterday By mistake John hit Mwangi in the face with a ball and john is saying sorry and mwangi turns and chases him to beat him and I am yelling "remember Mwangi how John took a beating for you at school defending you." It was funny to see the whole scene but I guess you had to be there to find the humor in the whole thing!!!
I'll let you know if Levi made it to the top. I am proud of him even if he doesn't because he was even sicker then me last week!! Got to run !!! Ellen

The trip that Levi and Bruce are taking sounds like fun. I hope he does well. I will pray for safety for them. Hey could you post some pics for us? We would really love to see you guys, the mountain and all these folks we hear about and pray for. Let me know.

Awful Advert on Homesteadblogger

Dear Ellen,
I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but there is a really awful advert that comes up first thing when I try to access your site. As a matter of fact, I had to get onto this site by the back door sort of, by doing a Yahoo search several times. I don't know what can be done about it and really do not know how to go about doing anything about it!
Any ideas?? Maybe Bruce might know.
That's it really; just came on to find out how everyone is doing. ...We had snow late Thursday afternoon and on into the evening. I was up during the night and it was really beautiful as it is the kind of snow that sticks! Reallly cold and windy today though.
Trust this quick note finds everyone well with noone else getting that big virus you had!!
