homeschooling the preschooler

09:31, Tuesday, April 17, 2007 .. 2 comments .. Link

Can I announce right here and right now that I have never formally homeschooled a preschooler?  All of my children attended public preschool in one form or another... sure we did arts and crafts, and I read to them all, and we went on excursions and I delighted in their wonder.

but to sit down and actually figure out how to teach my youngest, who i really think is going to teach me a lot more than I am going to teach her?  its unnerving.

Princess Butterfly is ready to move forward.  She loves to learn and I need to get started here.  We have a speech therapist and she is wonderful, so I took her cue and borrowed some books from the library about teaching preschool curriculum and am gleaning a lot from that.

if you have any sites that would help me, please let me know.  Thanks!

These are two resources that we use and love. Of course, it really depends on what you are looking for. Praying God grants you wisdom--there are so many choices out there!

Warmly,
Elizabeth

we liked "joy school" - it is more geared to a group of moms doing it, but you could do it yourself.
