Well, it has been so interesting having to whisper! First of all, it was difficult to whisper for 3 hours and 45 minutes while teaching piano! I talked out loud more than I whispered, probably. As a result, my throat hurt more afterward and it was much harder to talk out loud when I needed to. It was hard to not talk out loud! My kids and dh thought I was mad if I did talk out loud. My suspicions were confirmed that dh only half listens to me sometimes. I woke up this morning with a little better voice. Oh, and I video-taped myself talking and I'll put it on youtube, but not until that disc gets full. I don't have my b-i-l's hard drive video camera anymore where I can shoot and upload immediately. Another thing I learned is that I CAN'T HUM!!! Weird, huh? I can't even say, "Uh-huh" for 'yes' or "Huh-uh" for 'no'. I'd rather be hoarse for a month and not have this cough, though. That's the worst part of it. And when I do cough (which is about every 5 minutes) I have to do whatever it is to keep myself from "wetting". I guess it's a kegel thing. THANKFULLY, my spirits are not down because of this. As long as I don't have a fever, I can be sick and still function normally (well, except for the kegel thing). I GOT MY NEW METRONOME! The guy at the store called yesterday (right before I was about to get my first student) to say it was in. So, I went this morning to get it. Then I went to my mom's to use her sewing machine. The weirdest thing happened this morning with MY sewing machine. I was sewing a piece of elastic on my house shoes (2 pairs) and I got shocked! I'll work on it later when I'm ready to get shocked again! I don't think it was much voltage, though. |
