This morning Lacey got up before 7 and got in bed with us. She didn't go back to sleep, so I knew then that she would get a nap today! Molly went w/Jannah and Lauren to "shop" and go to Beech Bend. She's been gone since about 9:15. Lacey and I went to Jan's for me to put up the outside light fixture. I had to do some fancy "shadetreeing". Well, not really "fancy", but just a bit unconventional. The light fixture that they want in Ashley's closet won't work so I will have to go to Lowe's and get one. There are no air vents in that closet so I left the closet door open. Oh, no, I just remembered that the cat might go in there! I HOPE NOT!!! Before we left, I went and got 10 of the concrete paver like things to go by the garden hose. It's not enough; I need about 14 more, I think. I probably shouldn't get that many more. I don't know, I may leave it like it is. I talked to my dad about making some type of base unit for our picnic table umbrella that will be used w/o the picnic table to support it. We came up with using a 5 gallon bucket. I came home and cut a hole big enough for the umbrella to go through and it works perfectly!!! The only thing is, though, that I still need to put sand and bricks in it. I'm so happy! This way, we can set it easily in the driveway or the yard and sit directly under it. I hope I can make it strong enough so that I can tilt the umbrella. We've been having to water lately. The bamboo that I transplanted, especially. We need rain so bad. Johnny cleaned the grill and the garbage can IN THE YARD and now there's grill gunk and some of the grass is dying because of it. He doesn't realize that the grass is something to protect from things like that. Molly has a game tonight at 6. It should be a fun time because Johnny and Minnie (and Lucy) will be there with me to help watch Lacey. Last night we went to the park and had a picnic and Johnny grilled hamburgers. They were good. Janet and her parents came and we had a bunch of good laughs. Afterwards we went to Bruster's for ice cream. Lucy sat in the car and Lacey went to her to feed her some spoonsful of ice cream. We haven't heard from Perry of any of them in Gulf Shores. We did hear from the China group. I hope Perry is in a room with some good kids. I don't mind him being in a room with no adult but I hope he's with a few of the better boys. I should get the mp3 player from W-M tomorrow via UPS. I just don't know which one to keep. Either the one I got Sunday from HHGregg which is gray and rugged and sporty or the one from W-M which is red and cute. Decisions, decisions! I really need to do some work here in the basement. I found a mat that goes on carpet and under office chairs in someone's garbage last week and I need to get it under the computer desk. And I need to put up some shelves (closet doors I found in someone else's trash) in the play room. I don't know why I can't just do it! Gotta go get to work .......... |
