Basement Organization Project

I have had a whole wall of shelves installed in my basement for storage purposes.  We do not have any closets in our old farmhouse, so storage has always been an issue for us.

I have had the shelves up for over two months now.  There are items on the shelves.  The problem is that the items are not organized in a way that makes it easy for me to find items. 

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of a project like this that they have done?

Well, we have a lot of shelves in our house, and the stuff that we use regulary, we put in a lower shelve so it is there when we need it. And the best way to organize stuff is storage containers. There are a lot of storage containers in different sizes. And you can sort the stuff out and put them in the storage containers and stack it neatly on the shelf.
