My sister update

I just talked to my sister for 3 1/2 hours.  Her husband told her I was off limits and she was not allowed to talk to me.  I was on the unapproved list I guess.  He does not like when she gets empowered and stands up for herself.  Plus, he doesn't think the faith part of our lives is helpful at all.  He needs to be saved from his selfish and proud ways.  It is quite sad.  But today Darci was reminded of our mighty and powerful God and she is going to start claiming the truth of His Words!!  She was reading verses to me from Isaiah that her pastor preached on and it was very encouraging to her.  The God of the universe is holding her in His hands and will never let her go.  That is good stuff.

I got my homeschool stuff friday.  I got My Father's World.  Good stuff.  I was really hoping to hit the schedule in the morning but every time I think I am on the ball - I get distracted with a long phone call and now it is nearly midnight and I am tired and I am not quite ready for tomorrow.  It is hard to know how to handle the curve balls but also be disciplined and stay on task.  Plus, I have to clean and cook for company tomorrow.  I need to give the day to God and go to bed!!

I hope Darci still thinks she's "empowered" after reading the Bible... cos the Bible isn't real conducive for women's rights or women standing up for themselves, ya know? *sigh* If her husband really got into the Bible, he'd probably be quoting her a verse a day on how she's supposed to "obey" her husband and "submit" to him. It's not too empowering to be kissing the boots all the time.

In the time immediately following Christ's resurrection, the women of the Church were quite powerful and "empowered". The Bible was written, by men, 300 years after that. Times were changing by then, in this new "Christian" church, and women were being put on the back burner right and left. Really a shame cos Jesus had no intention for that. His mother was a pretty powerful lady in the Church following her son's death and ascension into heaven! She was also a widow for quite awhile, until her own death. Pretty bold for a woman back in those days. I admire her so much for that!!

Just my thoughts on the subject.

I know that your sister will feel strengthend by the word of God. Even when we need to submit, there is strength in that because it is always our choice (I don't know where men got the idea that they were to make women submit; submission is between us and our Heavenly Father!)

I am sorry that you are being cut off from her, since I am sure that you are a great encouragement to her in a difficult time. Keep praying. When ever I see a post by you, I will pray for her, too!

God bless you both.

the Bible was not written 300 years after the death of Christ. it was written, in part, by men that lived with Jesus. Read it cover to cover, again and again.
