• Thursday, November 2, 2006 - Wow! HAven't had time to blog lately!
And I really shouldn't be doing it now either but I will for a quick entry. Ds is just about finished with his Kindergarten math book (he is 85% done with it) so I need to order the 1st grade of for him at the end of the week. (I didn't expect him to move this fast, yesterday he counted all the way to 100 by himself!) He is doing so good in school and is learning to read in phonics but he doesn't really like the Lang Arts program (OH well he can't like everything right?!) DD is busy (she is 2.5 yrs) and into everything but she is grasping the concept of mommy and ds are doing school and she needs to either do school with us or color or play POlly POckets or something and when mommy can take a break she will get her a drink or whatever. Now if she would just go on the potty but she is so into NO right now that she doesn't want to go on the potty unless she wants to go on it Ok there are worse things than that but I am getting tired of changing diapers (OK let's also say I am tired of buying diapers!), I have tried bribery, demanding, making her sit there until she goes but this is the only area she has control of so she uses it to her advantage. (Since I stopped the M&M's for peeing she will only go if she gets something for it. Ds was the same way but closer to her birthda I will have her set a goal of when to be potty trained and let her pick the day and the present she gets when she goes on the potty all the time. (It worked with ds, so I am praying it will with her too) Well, I gotta go and get school stuff ready and then go clean at mom's and maybe stop and get some more yarn for my sweater and some socks! BYE! |

• Thursday, August 24, 2006 - Busy week
Wow it is Thursday again! I have soo much to do today, pay bills, clean at mom's, make pizza for supper, work on getting ds' books ready. School starts Monday and ds is so excited. I spoke with our supervising teacher yesterday and she was checking his scores and told me to look over the work esp in math and start him where I thought he should be by having him take the evals for the other units and if he gets them all right tomove onto the next unit and give him credit for the other unit because we do not want him to get bored. Also anything that we do that teaches him something new counts and we can get supplemental hours for it, wathcing Leapfrog dvds counts as does teaching him to cook, clean and weed the gardens as long as it is something new that he doesn't know yet. I am also teaching him science from the book called the World God Made. He cannot wait to start it.
It is raining here and thundering nothing serious, I don't think the kids even realize that it is thundering. Well I should be off to make breakfast for littles. |

• Thursday, August 17, 2006 - I hate computers
Not really I just hate when they decide that they are not going to work correctly and then you try to download updates and they are no longer doing updates for your operating system or for your antispy or antivirus so now I have to get all new stuff Getting all new stuff normally gets me excited but not this time, see I am scared I am going to loose everything. It is only supposed to be an upgrade but you never know do you. So today I will spend a good portion of the day backing up pictures, files and all the stuff that I have done already for my MOPS group (I do publicity for them) so I have at least three dds of stuff to back up as soon as the caffeine gets into my system. PTL! my dh knows computers and get mine working (I could use his or the game one but I prefer mine kwim) enough to get me by until the new software gets here. Ok off to do my major backup!
Just ralized I never updated you all on my system problems....well dh ended up getting me a whole new system that I wanted as my birthday present (yes my birthday was awhile ago but we agreed to get me my new system as a present) and I must say it is sooo much better and has a lot more memory so my programs do not tie and kill the system (I couldn't run Publisher and my printer at the same time on the old system). On this one not only can I run them but I can run Publisher, Word, the printer and be online and anythign else I want to do at the same time! YEAH!!! Dh even taught me how to build the system by myself with his guidance. |

• Thursday, August 10, 2006 - Thursday here
Today is a busy day for me, I clean my mom's house every two weeks or so and today is the day. I also have to get everything ready for MOPS that starts in September but I have to get my samples and things ready and that takes lots of time! Ds has a cold and is CRABBY and basically just being annoying today (but of course he will not take anything for it...BOYS!)
Dd is being pretty good (she's two but sometimes acts older like today she is playing quietly and ds is being noisy)
We have finaly gotten everything from k12 for school, now we are just waiting on the things from Rainbow Resources which should be here soon too. I wish they would get here soon so I can plan those lessons too.
I got some baking done yesterday, made cookies (chocolate with pb chips), chocolate chocolate chip muffins and apple cinnamon muffins too. I also tried my hand at some salsa, it turned out good (dh loved it and ate an entire container last night!) was a combo of garlic and artichoke with some jalapenos but not quite enough for my taste, I only had one ready in the garden. The tomatoes were some that my inlaws had brought for us and everything else except the artichokes and garlic were from my garden. I need to get the recipe written down even though I do not remember how much of everyhting I put in, I need to write down what I put in!
I got the kids winter clothes sorted today and poor dd has two pairs of jeans, one dress, two pairs of sweats, no shoes, no socks and no shirts.
Ds has two pairs of pants, one pair of dress pants, three flannel shirts, three sweaters, and two pairs of sweatpants! Thank God my mom and my mil buy them stuff if I give them sizes or my kids would have nothing to wear! I have to make lists for them and email them to them so they can get started on their shopping and garage saleing!
Gotta run time to make lunch! |
