Good morning to all and yes, I am still decluttering

Posted in Decluttering 101

Thank you to all that have left me comments saying you are joining in or have already decluttered your homes!  I truly love hearing from all of you.

I didn't get to do much in the house yesterday since dh was off; we put up hay and ran some errands.  I plan to make up for it today though, Lord willing.  I am going to follow Sara and Flylady's plan today and do some crisis cleaning; working in each room 15 minutes at a time until I am done or out of time.  I am going to do every room in the house and include the porch/yard as well because it also needs some attention.  There are some areas that aren't too bad and I will probably only have to spend 15 minutes and then I will be done with that room, but others could take me all day (or all week).  Once a room is done, I will just skip it on the next 15 minute rotation.  I plan to just work as long as I can and get as much done as I can.  I do have to go to a friend's house and check on things while they are on vacation and I am going to stop at Dollar General to see if they have any empty boxes I can have; to put my clutter in .

I am so excited about the responses I have gotten about decluttering and I just love that so many of you are joining me in this challenge.  I know several of you won't be able to join today because it is probably family day for you, but my dh is working today; so, I am pressing on.  Join me if you can and if not, I am sure I will still be decluttering Monday too .

Blessings,

Rashel

Sounds like you have a good plan Rachel!!! Our home is in pretty good order because of my house keeping routine, but I am spending time on those things you shove in a drawer, cabinet, or closet and they become jumbled and unorganized. I have several of those! So, last night I started cleaning out some cabinets in the living room, and found tons of magazines I thought I needed to keep at one time. LOL I sorted through them and kept ones that might help me with Christmas crafting ideas this year, as well as Christmas cooking. The rest are boxed up and ready for giving away on Freecycle, or to the Thrift Shop. The box consists of crafting magazines, cooking magazines, some Marth Stewarts, etc.

I am a magazine hoarder, and I have decided that I don't ever have the time to go back later and look at them, so I might as well give them to someone else who could enjoy them. LOL

I have a basket beside my chair in the living room, and it will hold quite a few magazines. From now on, I will put them in this basket, and when it gets full, that will be my sign to sort and donate some!

So, I am not only decluttering, but in this case, making a prevision so I don't get bogged down with too many magazines again!

Good work on your decluttering and cleaning!!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
