Whew! This has been one of those days where all I wanted to do was climb back into bed and pull the covers up over my head! Dear Hubby is down with a broken clavicle (can you say goofball on a bike?!) and Jack (our 8-y.o.) has had a terribly rough day! We are struggling with his behavior: angry outbursts, defiance, disrespect, etc. (which is the main reason we brought him home from 2nd grade so we can be here for him and spend time working with him in our loving environment...not the harsh, impatient school environment!) and today was a doozy! By lunch time I was worn out and my temper flared and I lashed out in anger. Some role model I am! I can just imagine his confusion to my yelling at him to stop yelling! However, no matter how bad our days may be we ALWAYS end with hugs, prayers, encouraging words and I Love Yous as we tuck in. At least the last things he hears from tired old mom are gentle loving words. Time to harvest a few fruits of the spirit and put on my Colossian clothes! (Colossians 3:12-14 "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtures put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.") I think I need to design paper dolls with these "clothes" to help me remember. Sort of like putting on the armor of God...but more girl-ey! :-) So, to the God of Second Chances whose mercies are new every morning...thank you for loving me and my family through this day.
WELCOME, dear friend !!!!!!!!

Welcome to blogging! And thank you for your comments on my blog. I have had many a day just as you have descibed. Your son sounds like a combination of my two youngest. Do you find your bad days are worse when his blood sugar is too high? I am noticing DD7's behaviour growing much worse when her blood sugar is up. Granted she has always been The Diva anyway :-) Sometimes I feel so guilty fussing at her about her behaviour only to discover her BG is up...parental guilt :-(
PS If you daughter hasn't shown you how to embed a link, I can PM you. It is one of the few things I can do (I am sooo computer challenged).
