Vitamin Update

11:46 AM, 2007-Jan-15 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 0 comments .. Link
I've been asked to share an update on Supermom Vitamins.
I continue to take 2 per day and believe they continue to be well worth it!
I suffered a bit of a cold, sore throat and hoarseness a couple of months back and I attribute it to being a bit lax in taking my vitamins daily. Since I have been back on track I haven't had nary a sniffle and I've been exposed to my share of icky ucky germs and such.
My energy continues to be up while I am faithfully taking my vitamins. And yes, I continue to grind them up and put them in applesauce. I just cannot swallow those horse pills!
Mr. Steady continues to take the SuperDad vitamins and his energy levels continue to be notably higher.
Usually this is that icky period of winter when people suffer from seasonal disorders due to less sunlight and such but we haven't had any trouble here.
I am especially greatful for my SuperMom vitamins when I am having my cycle, as the effects of it are not as bad as in the past. Mr. Steady is also greatful for this! LOL
So if you were to ask me if these vitamins are worth the cost, I would have to say YES!

SuperMom Update

I realize that I have been remiss in keeping up-to-date on the SuperMom Vitamins I am taking.
I am still taking them and now my husband has started taking mine (you can order SuperDad vitamins too and I think I might do that for him . . . .)
Sometimes I get rushed in the morning and I don't take my vitamin- those are the days when I just drag and am ready for a nap in the afternoon. Yes, I can tell the difference when I skip a day or two.
Before SuperMom vitamins I took 2 Flintstones a day. Yep, kiddy vits for me. I have a horrible time swallowing big pills. Now, the SuperMom vits are big but I was told to crush them and mix them in a small cup of applesauce. This works quite nicely for me.
I am very glad for these vitamins- especially since I am adding homeschooling to my schedule.
As for my hubby- I believe they are doing him some good too. He works long hard (often hot) hours as a factory foreman- getting up very, very early and could usually be found sound asleep by 7 pm. I haven't mentioned it to him but since he started sneaking my vitamins he has the energy to stay up later and enjoy family time!

My Vitamin Experiement- Week 3

Vitamin Experiment Week 3

It’s been over 3 weeks since I started the Supermom vitamins. I continue to feel more energy and stamina than I did before the vitamins.

This past week I experimented with taking only 1 vitamin a day, @ breakfast time. The first day I didn’t notice much difference and thought to myself, how much more bang for my buck if I only needed one a day! Well, after 3 days of taking only one vitamin a day, I noticed that I was getting that sluggish feeling in the late afternoon. So back I went to 2-a-day and am doing fine. I continue to keep my vitamin taking on a pretty strict schedule and never on an empty stomach.

I do not know if this is related or not, but my skin is looking better than it has in awhile! More supple, less break-outs. Has this been true for anyone else taking them? I haven’t changed my skin care regimen.
I'll continue to keep ya'll posted . . . .

Day 11 Supermom

7:32 PM, 2006-May-2 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 1 comments .. Link

I have been encouraged to keep updating you on the Supermom vitamins and thought I would share some more . . . .
Things I have Learned:
*It is best to take one with breakfast and one with lunch- do not take later in the evening as they may keep you up at night!
*You may want to experiment with taking only 1 a day (instead of the recommended two) and see what that does for you first. If you aren't feeling much of anything- then go to 2 a day.
*They make you thirsty. I find myself drinking a lot more water, which by the way, is good for me.
*I am more active and less prone to the munchies (possibly because I'm drinking so much more water) so, therefore, I am losing weight (not incredible amounts but I am losing!).
*What a boost in my energy levels! I am glad for that most of all! It takes a lot out of me chasing my DS2 around all day and keeping him out of trouble and then keeping house and home on top of that!
*I have found that if I don't take them at approximately the same time each day (within 1/2 hour) that I begin to develop a headache. The headache does dissipate once I take the vitamin, though.
*I have not experienced any dizziness or nausea.
*I am horrible at swallowing pills. I crush up my vitamin and add it to about an 1/2 cup of applesauce- much easier for me.
*I do not take the vitamin and then eat- I usually have some of whatever I am eating then take a vitamin, then finish my meal. I think that may help with the nausea that some people find they are experiencing.
*I am not experiencing a noticable rapid growth in my fingernails but they are stronger (I tend to have brittle nails).
*My skin is glowing and I am not experiencing much acne. **This is significant as I tend to break out when I am under extreme stress- which I have been under for the past few weeks. so I attribute this to the vitamins.

*I also attribute the shine in my hair to it too- my hair also gets dullsville when I am stressed out.
I am quite happy with my progress so far. Please feel free to keep asking me questions. I am looking forward to seeing the continued difference by the end of one month. (I'm only 1/2 way thru week 2.) It will be interesting to see how all these mega-vitamins react when I spend more time outside in the sun. Some have said they become more sun-sensitive. Since I am a fair skinned (aka- burn then back to winter white) this should be quite noticable.

Vitamin Experiement Update

I've been recording tidbits here and there about the Supermom Vitamins. I stated that I'd now be updating you weekly but I learned something yesterday that I must share.
You are to take 2 vitamins a day- preferably with food. I usually take 1 with breakfast and 1 with lunch. We were gone for lunch yesterday and so I took it with supper instead. I believe that to be a mistake.  I was up- awake most of the night and when I was asleep I had the most VIVID dreams (not bad dreams but whoa- vivid!) I can't think of anything I ate/drank differently that would have affected me so- except for taking my vitamin later in the day.

I took my vitamin after 5 pm and won't be doing that again!
As I stated before- I continue to have much more energy with these vitamins and am quite happy so far (except for the sleep deprivation today!).
These pills are large- I grind them up and add them to a small portion of applesauce. The taste is bitter/herbal but not nauseating.
To order your own supply go to
www.beeyoutiful.com or go thru No Greater Joy's website for a 5% discount. At 2 a day- you'll get a 90 day supply.

Week One of the Experiment

11:08 AM, 2006-Apr-28 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 3 comments .. Link

I have now been on the SuperMom vitamins for 1 whole week. I continue to have more energy and less need for an afternoon nap. I am also sleeping better at night. I could mention that I have lost a couple of pounds too- but I’ve also been under an enormous amount of stress the last few weeks and it has affected my appetite.

I am not a pill swallower. I just can’t do it. My DH says it’s all in my head- I say “Yep, but I still can’t do it!” I’ve been cutting the pills in ½ to get them down and have still been choking on them @ times. So I decided to grind them up with my mortar and pestle and add them to a small serving of apple sauce. Success! Much easier to get down- even with the bitter after taste.

I will continue to document a weekly update (for how long- not sure). I haven’t experienced the faster growing, stronger fingernails or healthier hair yet- that I have heard about from others who are on the vitamins. But it has only been a week. I am quite happy with the higher energy levels.

Supermom Vitamins Day 4-5

11:31 AM, 2006-Apr-25 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 0 comments .. Link

I am liking these vitamins! I can definitely tell that I am not as tired as I have been lately. I do have more energy!

Yesterday- Day 4

I did a mostly normal Monday routine and felt great. Usually I am run down by mid-day about ready to fall asleep on the couch reading to DS2. And often, of late, I lack the energy and desire to cook dinner- not that I still don't do it- but what once was a joy has lately been a chore. Not last nite! I enjoyed cooking and even put on some worship music to enjoy at the same time. It was a delightful, peaceful time. DH and kiddos were all outside enjoying the cool evening and I had the house/kitchen to myself. Quite nice.

I am still having some "mood" swings but that could be contributed to my cycle this week.

Today- I am feeling GOOD. No headache. Much accomplished and caught up on with paperwork and correspondence. It's a dreary, cold and rainy day here. But cozy inside.

I splurged on myself and bought some delicious stuff to add to my coffee last week. It was at a local shop and also made locally (glad to support local economy/farmers); it's actually flavored, creamy honey. It's called Coffee Delight- flavor: Raspberry Chocolate. Yum! It's from a local apiary and is great as a spread on warm bread too! So I'm enjoying a warm cup of coffee flavored with raspberry chocolate honey and feeling quite content.

My Experiment- Day 3

Day 3 Experiment- Sunday

Okay- yesterday I forgot to take my vitamins- very, very busy day. I had a headache all day- pretty fierce @ times and am not sure that was from missing my vitamins or all the stress I was under- or a combination of both.

It was Honor Our Seniors Sunday (for graduating high schoolers)- as youth pastor I was in charge of everything from the entire morning service (including sermon) to the luncheon afterwards- including decorating. And teach my Sunday School class on top of it- and still have reg. youth meeting in the evening.

It was a successful day and I managed to pull it off with my own flare for the creative and my ability to laugh at myself! I was also able squeeze a bit of a nap in the afternoon!

Overall a good day- a few bumps and missteps but it all came about wonderfully. Lucky me- I was given some food to take home by my caterer (one of my youth’s Mom’s and an INCREDIBLE cook). So we were set for dinner later in the evening and some dessert to see us thru a couple of days.

Today- Monday, I am taking it easy as I put in many hours (and mucho stress) to pull off yesterday. I am allowed a “day off” after a big event like that. So today is my reg. home stuff without a lot of youth pastor stuff (maybe only an hour or so of paperwork). REG Monday Stuff: Laundry, errands- grocery shopping, gas and bank. I also need to get DD9 to little league practice right after school. And the library called to say they have a book in for me- so I see my afternoon outside playing with DS2 and reading snatches of my book while he plays in dirt with his cars (if this fog lets up and it warms up a bit).

My Experiment Day 2

5:13 PM, 2006-Apr-22 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 2 comments .. Link

Okay- about those Supermom Vitamins . . . . You take 2 a day perferably with a meal. I take one @ breakfast and one @ lunch. Yesterday (Day 1) I didn't notice much difference. I must mention however, that I did sleep REAL good last night. With all the stress I've been under lately that hasn't been happening.

This morning- Day 2.

I woke up ready to start my day @ 7:20 am. This is not normal in the least. I am a late to bed, late to rise kinda gal. I can wake up look at the clock, roll over and go back to sleep. During the week I must be up by 6:15 am to get the household ready for school etc. but on Saturdays (aka Sleep-in Day) we don't roll out of bed until we have to- ie 9 am at the earliest. (I know that's shameful but it's one of my few extravagances and pampering opportunities!)

Anyhoo- woke up @ 7:20 am cuddled with hubby and rolled out @ 7:40

Devotions, prayer and journal time.

Breakfast by 8:30 am

Kicked kiddos and DH out of bed and fed them-  then shipped DH and DDs off to morning little league practice (9 am) while I . . . .

loaded the car with 2 lrg. rubbermaid containers and 4 boxes full of out grown clothes plus two grocery bags of shoes to take to 2nd hand shop.

Grabbed DS2, his toys/books and snack, library books to return, DD9's shorts to be returned and lastly my purse and piled us and our paraphinalia into the car.

On the road @ 9:45 am.

Dropped off library books, got DH's money @ bank and drove 20 minutes to 2nd hand shop- only to find they have changed their hours and don't open until 11 am. Sigh. 10 minute drive back into town to pick up bibles I had engraved for graduating seniors and made a stop @ Big Lots for wrapping paper because the lady didn't wrap the bibles per the usual. Sigh again. Remembered I also needed bandaids, napkins and straws- which I picked up. (Not one to waste time and effort on trips that are now over $3/gal gas).

11 am- back on the road to 2nd hand shop. Owner is ecstatic to see all my "stuff" but can't store it to go thru and have me pick up later. She promises she can thru all that in a few "short minutes"- I say okay- she starts- I keep DS2 in car with snack and books. 1 Hour and a sudden rain shower later she is done and I now take back 2 rubbermaid containers "mostly" full of clothes she didn't want. DS2 has eaten all snacks and thrown a toy out his car window. Life is good- he is fine and so is my car! (note: lest you think I neglected him- I was parked right in front of the store and watching him thru the window as well as sitting with him for a bit- if I had gotten him out- he wouldn't have gone back in! Note to others: Boys don't like being hemmed in, tied up or corralled and once let loose will fight tooth and nail not to go back into any type of confinement.)

Back on the road by Noon. Talk to DH on phone- 2 calls for me- one is my Mom wanting DS2 to come over so that I can get stuff done.  LOL. Get home- DS is asleep in car, I grab his bag and the supplies I need to take to church (not enough room in car to take earlier). Drop DS off @ Nana's and graduation supplies off @ church.

12:40 eat lunch and take 2nd vitamin- wishing I could just go to bed and sleep . . . .

While eating I check email and return calls- then to the nitty-gritty. As youth pastor, I am in charge of entire worship service tomorrow- including sermon. I don't do sermons so I am giving a "talk" like I do in youth group.

So I am working on my "talk" polishing and practicing.

By 5 pm I have polished and practiced, done 2 loads of laundry, and finished the pile of paperwork that's been on my desk all week.

Well, I didn't think those vitamins were doing much yet but looking at this  . . . . I have accomplished quite a bit! Can't wait to see what these vitees do for me tomorrow!

I will update ya'll on Monday!

My Experiment

5:04 PM, 2006-Apr-22 .. Posted in The Vitamin Experiment .. 0 comments .. Link

Okay- after reading Quiverful Acres rave reviews and updates I "bit the bullet" and ordered myself some SuperMom vitamins. I am not a good vitamin taker- I couldn't keep down my pre-natals and had to go on 2 Flintstones a day- which I have still been doing. But my energy levels have been quite low lately and my stress levels quite high. The last couple of weeks I have been mentally and physically exhausted and I DO NOT like that feeling. So after keeping track of her experiments and figuring it can't hurt to try . . . . I ordered my own 90 day supply. You can get a 5% discount on the vitamins if you order thru No Greater Joy's website. When I got my supply it also came with a 10% coupon for my next purchase- good until March 2007.

You really need to read all that Quiverful Acres has been doing since taking these vitamins. She is a strong sell on them.

I am on Day 2 and will post on it again in a bit . . . .

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
